I saw this the other day at best buy for only $650 which struck me as a really good deal, and it has a dedicated graphics card (Nvidia GeForce 9300M GS) as opposed to the integrated 4500MHD. However, I couldn't find this model on the Asus website or this one (probably because it's a best buy exclusive) so I was wondering if anyone had any personal experience or thoughts they could offer. I found one review on Cnet ( http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/asus-x83vb-x2/4505-3121_7-33496180.html) but apart from that, not much is mentioned about this laptop.

I also read the X83Vb-X1 thread, but there are differences-such as a $200 price drop- that could have an impact.

Also, one of my concerns as a casual gamer is whether or not the GeForce 9300M GS will be enough to play Starcraft II and Diablo III, which haven't been released but maybe some of you may have an idea of what kind of specs they'll require. If it isn't enough, I might have to consider the X83Vm or the G50vT, but those exceed my budget.

Hi Shadowalkerz, and welcome to the forums.

Since the 9300M GS is really an entry-level GPU, it's difficult to speculate how well it performs with SC2 and D3 since they're both not out yet. However, if you have a mind set on gaming, I'd suggest going for a notebook with a little more graphically power (ie. at least a 9500M GS or better GPU) just to be safe.

    Heya Shadowalkerz,

I picked up the X1 for $500 and it also has the 9300m GS 512mb which OK for older games....

    example:
Doom 3, Ultra settings and runs great
Warcraft 3, runs perfect all settings high
CS Source, All settings high AA off ,50-70 FPS consistantly
Call of Duty WaW, everything pretty much on LOW settings runs ok frame rate(sorry dont have fraps cant tell you exact fps but will run smooth...)

Thats all I've tried so far but I would have to agree with David get atleast a 9500 if you want to do some decent gaming on a laptop.
