found this from a UK based reseller. not too many pics, but from what we have, I really like the direction Asus' whitebook models are going this year.. especially compared to those offered last year!

    from samsungnotebooks.co.uk..

Indeed, their barebones are making a comeback, I spoke with the ASUS rep for N.A. and he mentioned the 'revival' of the barebones, no more generic looking ones.

is that what you do in your spare time cori? call asus reps? :p

is it me, or does the glossy lid have some sort of textured pattern to it? or is that just the lighting?

i don't see a textured pattern. :) might be wrong though. the new barebones look awesome! i'm curious about the potential specs on that z37.

*edit: oops - just went to the website and i see the specs there. 4.8 hrs battery life with an optical drive (potential expansion battery slot?) seems like a decent ultraportable to me.

here's hoping they release a 9cell for it, so it can break 7hours maybe?..looks like i might wait for that rather than picking up a z35 now

i don't think that battery life is with the optical battery since there's no mention of hot-swapping in the description

Good find, Goren. Looks like there's also a fingerprint reader... which is a cool feature I'd love to have (whether or not it works properly).

    I want a Z37!

Very nice find, but the graphics card perplexes me slightly. I remember reading on AnandTech's CES coverage that the Z37 had a Go8400 DX10 GPU, whereas here it reads Intel GM945....

asus barebones may be making a come back in terms of aesthetics and design now that intel vbi went under (in less then a year) but they will still be underpowered in terms of graphics. asus is making a point of making ensembles better then barebones in every aspect

The changeable graphic card picture is kinda like the one on my Chassis Z84J, it doesn't look like it's from C90 or other model.

Those model looks tigh, They looks professional like V1 series and other business class series now.

    Thanks for more pix.

If the Z37 has an 8400, I think I *finally* found my new laptop. I suppose it would be too much to ask that it has a 1440x900 screen?

Looking at the size and thickness of the machine, I doubt an 8800 will ever find itself in there. A 8600 probably has a better chance though.

I just talked to Asus NA whitebox PM last night, he said C90 will be in the market end of May, Z37 will be end of June, plus the current Z84 and Z96, there is no plan for other models now.

Ouchhhhhh. They said end of March! Any idea why there is such a delay? Maybe Santa Rosa? But the C90 is using a desktop processor, will it still be a Santa Rosa plateform?
Any idea of the price? I'm waiting for info about this model before purchasing, so if it's going to be too expensive, I will go for a G1.

Thanks if you have some more info...

I suggest you have a look at this thread, it contains a lot of information regarding the C90.

By the way it is not a battery, it is actually a vent with 4 fans for cooling.

I read the video card is:

    nVidia GeForce 8600M GS/256MB MXM II v2.0 w/TTP

wonder how powerful that will be, or how upgradable it will actually be in the future.
