Does the Z61a have ddr2 533 ram or ddr 333 ram? The Proportable web site says 533 ram in the description but under it it says 333 when you want to customize the amount of ram.

Now there's an Ae version? What's the difference between the Z61A and Z61Ae?

Hey Jtom - I'm not sure if the site said that or not, but the model we still have is the Z61a....... we're not going to carry the Z61ae as this M3 chassis is already 2 1/2 years old and quite frankly not a great seller anymore. The difference with the new "ae" model is just ddr2 533 instead of ddr333...... I've personally tested out the differences (not just on this model, but all of them) and there isn't much of a performance difference anyway, so really I wouldn't pay a premium for the "ae" model if I were you, but that's just my opinion. I think we only have a couple of them left at this point since we put the added bonus discount on them and the Z63a's... I think it was a bonus 1% plus the other member discounts could be combined with it, but if you're looking I could probably help you even more on that particular unit if need be because we've got a lot of accessories for them in stock and I can manage to hook you or anyone else up to get rid of the rest of the stock.

It's always been a great laptop, but like I said, it's an aging chassis. For us, it's just kind of blah, but people who see it for the first time still fall in love with it....
