I've been considering the Z70Va for awhile, but Lenovo has recently dropped the price on their T43 with the IPS Flex View screen, which supposedly has an excellent wide viewing angle. So the price for a comparably loaded Z70Va and T43 15 inch with Flex View is similar, around $1800. Any of you Asus hounds out there ever compared a Z70Va with a Flex View equipped T42 or T43? Both seem to have excellent build quality, but the T43 even in 15 inch is somewhat lighter and thinner. The Asus has better speakers, WSXGA versus SXGA+ Flex View screen, a few more ports (such as Firewire), and 128 MB versus 64 MB ATI discrete graphics. The problem is, I have never seen either of them in person, only on the Internet. Any comments or suggestions? :asus: or :buyIBM:

Depends on what you'll use them for...
the Asus Z70Va is a more powerful machine... better for gaming and probably digital work too.
The T43 is more/less strictly a business machine... built to last and basically never fail you.
Keyboard on the T43 is better... and the FlexView gives it better viewing angles than the Asus...
but the Asus, as mentioned before, has a better video card... more port options... and in my opinion, a lot prettier
Tell us more about how you're going to use it... and we'll tell you what the better pick is. -
