    Hello all,
I just bought a FS 550 yesterday from FutureShop instead of a Toshiba Satellite M40-JM3, and I gotta say when I bought it, I was almost sure that Sony is much better than Toshiba in sense of physical quality and lifetime. However, today when I started looking at the reviews on it and other models, it came to my attention that Toshiba and Asus have similar laptops with better Video abilities. So here I am asking for your opinion on these three models that I've picked up as my choices: Asus Z71v, Sony Vaio VGN FS 550, and Toshiba Satellite M40-JM3, so maybe I could exchange it before it's too late

my concern is (1) lifetime of the computer and (2) its physical quality, I guess all the rest specs are almost the same in all the 3 models above (Except for FS's Graphic!).

Another question is about the Asus laptop. I haven't seen any Asus notebooks in the FutureShop near me, I wanted to know if Futureshop has Asus laptops at all?

    Nope, they dont :(

Although they do have LG ones, which they introduced recently!

Check out for the resellers at Asus's site..

edit: Just noticed your in Toronto, man i'm blind!!

Check out CanadaSys, or Pacific Notebook, they both have the Z71v, and their prices are very similiar. At the momment, Pacific Notebooks has a $20~-$30~ edge over CanadaSys on a same spec'd z71v. But you can't really customize it, as CanadaSys gives you more options.

The sites are www.canadasys.com and www.pacificnotebook.com

Both are located north of Toronto, but CanadaSys has more branches.

the deal on CanadaSys.com sounds perfect, but unfortunately, I'm using my FutureShop card so I guess I have to go with smth within the Store.

Would you guys help me in deciding which one of those 3 laptops have the best lifetime/physical quality? I'm so concern about this issue since my last Compaq laptop was a pain in the ass... I took it to the store once a month on average basis 'til they exchanged it (dead pixels, loose lid, flashing screen, noise, heat, keyboard, etc etc!)
