    Just got mine tonight.
Warning:Lots of pictures at large size.
    Pictures are all @1600x

I have some close shots of the Video card, which seems to be MXM type and upgradeable.

The package comes with the laptop barebone , screws, hard drive bay, stickers, and a carry bag.

To admin, I don't know how to resize this as a thumbnail and link that thumbnail to the big picture, feel free to edit my post.

Great pics, I believe Photobucket should allow for thumbnails, so look for the coding for thumbnails you can't miss it.

Or an Admin here can take the images, resize it and post these pictures from the notebookreview FTP, either way will work. Or if you have your own FTP I can give you a quick guide on how to thumbnail.

oh.. it's the 12th picture, from the bottom counting up.. I don't know how to call that piece of rubber under the laptop so just call it "shoe".

    I used Canon 30D and Tamron 17-55mm F2.8 lens. It's a good combination for a DSLR.

That's the first "ASmobile" I've seen a picture of. It's pretty nice looking... but with a camera like that, I bet you could make a Gateway look nice :p . Congrats and enjoy!

I like that finish, it seems MUCH better than the older barebones like the S96J. I wouldn't say that its better looking than say, the dv9000, but still an attractive notebook.

What specs did you get on it? And how is that 4 speaker + sub sound system?

I haven't get other CPU , RAm and HDD yet... my credit card is having a problem. Luckily I the bank finally fixed it for me. I just placed the order for T7200 CPU, 2GB Gskill PC 5300, and 160gb 5400RPM Hitachi. I have to wait til next week if everything and order verification go through smoothly. I can't wait for the parts to arrive.. which makes me wanna tear down my Toshiba and get the parts to put in there.

I'll post up the benchmark and some impression of the system.

I just noticed that the Fn key is on the corner of the keyboard , instead of Ctrl Key. Why does asus still provide a keyboard like this??? Is there any replacement Keyboard that has different Ctrol FN butto arrangement? (ask just in case if i'm not happy with the keyboard.)

Another thing that is missing compare to other laptop now is the Media Play keys ( play /stop, next, previous, volume up down). I found out that these keys are very useful when I listening to music and do other things at one time. These key are available on my Toshiba and E1705... and I use them alot.

I don't know if there is a 9 cell battery upgrade for this one.

I asked this elsewhere too, but does anyone know if this thing corresponds to a non-barebone Asus notebook? WHere they are both based on the same chasis?

The gpu is flipped like the a8j. i dont know the difference between type 2 and 3 by sight. To me it looks exactly the same

Would this gpu fit in a machine with the type 2? and also vice versa?

I did a quick ratio check and the card is the same size as the a8j card all i can see is there is a notch in the a8j card.

Im using your signature as a reference and it is type 2

? I`m confused. I was checking out the topic starter`s pics, they llok like a perfectly normal Type III to me.

Are we talking about the same? You can use this page as a reference..

Type III has nothing to do with screws, it`s just one off the size classes of MXM.

I was curious about this as well so I did a little research and this is what I came up with.

I am honestly not sure what the one in this notebook is, but from what I have read the Go7600 only comes in MXM-II/III sizes Also I found this Fujitsu model that has a MXM-III Go7600.
    http://www.datacom.bg/promo/offers/Fujitsu-Simens/654806764.pdf

Also I found this from MXM-Upgrade.com which seems to say that it is MXM-III though they are not sure. scroll down a little until you come to the Z84.
    http://www.mxm-upgrade.com/notMXM.html

    And now some pics,
the first is MXM-II, second MXM-III and third MXM-I

Stamar and Ice-Tea, I just wanted to clarify that the Z84jp is not based off the G2P model. The Z84jp is just a refresh of the Z84f. The previous model didn't seem to have a long shelf life, because reviews and detailed pictures are almost non-existent. Probably because it didn't have a dedicated graphics card.

The G2P does seem to be based off the A7J and Z83 chassis though.

    Ok

well the chassis is exactly the same, the case

There has to be a few things different because their is a port different, doesnt this one have e sata? It is possible this one is an update.

The a7 z83 g2 and z84 all have the same chassis....

The connection, where it connects to the computer. On the asus cards it is on the other side. You look at your sig, the connection is on the left side on asus cards its on the right.

Ok well the shape of the actual card would not fit its not the right size.

Just letting ya know the chassis/case is not the same either.

    The dimensions of the G2P are 16" x 12.3" x 2.63" according to MilestonePC.

    The dimensions of the Z84jp are 15.5" x 11.3" x 1.7" according to GentechPC.

The G2P is much bulkier and 1lb heavier than the Z84jp. I also doubt that the chassis could be the same when every single port is placed differently, as opposed to the G2P, A7J, and Z83 all have similar placed ports, with slight upgrades.

Also, if you look at the pictures, there's way too many differences, which makes it impossible for it to be the same chassis. The keyboard on the Z84jp is a little smaller, as you can see the keys on the right-hand side, probably due to spacing of the larger speakers on the sides. Not to mention the sub-woofer and the differently placed air vents, front speakers, and parts housing on the bottom. The Z84jp chassis can house a 6-cell battery, with also an inch thicker 9-cell battery. The G2P is only compatible with an 8-cell battery.

Like I mentioned before, it was only previously based on the short-lived Z84F. Good luck to anyone finding a review on that one.

I can't wait to hear reviews on the Z84jp. I was wondering what the battery life is with the 6-cell battery. Congrats and I look forward to reading your review, Khanhfat!

    Hmmm

    you must be right then.

What I see is the lcd is is the same part which was uniqe the 3 hinge parts.

    It must be unique then.

I wish someone with a g2 would take a picture of the gpu then

I''ll give u guys an update and benchmark, battery ratings and other stuff soon, I'm still waiting for the shipment of CPU , RAM , HDD... i wish I can get them sooner.

PS: the keyboard is rather small... but i'll get used to it. The laptop has both E-SATA and HDMI ports.

Does any one know what's the difference of the SPDIF audio port? what does it do?

Right now I'm still loading some software then do some benchmarks later.

EDIT: Just do the 3Dmark 05.. the score is 3008   with stock drivers.

I'm now updating the new drivers from laptopvideo2go

I guess so... the drivers from Laptop video 2go doesnt work with this... it only support 7600GS , GT. not 7600.

I gotta find out about these stuff. The card might be underclock.

EDIT: just did an overclock in coolbits with 3dMark 05. Core 465mhz and memory is 932 mhz.
    3D markscore up to 4162. http://s38.photobucket.com/albums/e141/khanhfat/?action=view&current=overclock7600.jpg

During this overclock. I choose Detect optimal settings for the system. So I test with the settings above. I notice fan goes on High and there's heat comming out the vent. I don't know if it's safe to left it like this. I'll apply some AS5 on the GPU.
