    Hey
Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone and everyone
As we all know the z96js. It has now been replaced by a similarly priced z96jp. Now i dont know whether or not the pm for asus made a mistake or taiwan made a mistake but here are the changes from the s to p
*z96jp no longer supports sata. it only supports pata
*z96jp no longer has a camera
*z96jp does NOT have a bluetooth module
If you are buying a z96j make sure the model is z96js not z96jp or you will be very dissapointed. Other then the above all else remained the same. We had bought a dozen of these for christmas. Now we have to send em all back. Avoid my mistake. The z96jp is readily advertised with bluetooth and sata however it is not so.

I think they are trying to put their barebone line under ground on purpose. I wonder where their ensemble line would go if all their knowledgebase on this forum and other forums including the handful of devoted dealers left for companies like ibm. Yes they make awesome ensembles. Thats where it stops. Theres nothing more. Yes i am very angry

Is this one cheaper or something? That would be disappointing to get the Z96Jp if you were expecting the normal Z96J(s). Does that mean the Z96J(s) is no longer being produced?

Ed, have you seen at least a preview of the models for the spring time? They're not trying to bury them.... I think they're trying to bury the the I3 plan because it makes Asus' systems no better than all the other companies out there..... They're going to continue to push the bottom of the barrel barebones on mom and pop corner computer shops and they'll do just fine.

I dont know how they going to do that. Intel vbi failed. They have to stack rebate on top of rebate just to push them. Asus barebones failed too. they stuck distis for months with the same inventory in the couple hundreds not thousands. If they are selling them they are not selling in any large numbers.

I know..... I know this very well... We refused to sell the VBI models and got a "talking to" from Intel. They didn't expect me to bark back though... I told Asus that it's one thing to be in Microsoft's and Intel's pockets, but it's another to fit in just for the purpose of fitting it...... It's like a company during war time - they went from making this high end stuff to filling government contracts for spec built products..... boooooooooring.

The first model to come out truly under the "asmobile" name is actually pretty decent....
