Hey guys, I just bought an Asus Zenbook UX303UB. Prior to getting it, I had read that it had a problem with displaying yellow properly. I thought, "how bad could it be?" and decided to go for it anyway as I liked all the other specs. Well, it turns out, it's actually pretty bad, at least to my eyes. The yellows are definitely more of a mustard. I do a lot of admin work and everything that I highlight in yellow looks very dark and greeny/yellow. I've tried updating the Nvidia display drivers to the latest version but no dice.

I contacted Asus today and didn't have too much luck with the tech rep I spoke with. His only suggestion, after we tried updating my drivers again, was to send the laptop in. I told him I didn't want to do that unless I knew they would be able to fix it since I'm responsible for the shipping. His reply was that "Of course they would be able to fix it once they had it." When I told him that this was a known issue, running on several years now, he said he had no knowledge of it and that they would not send the laptop back to me until it was fixed. We just went around in circles for a while, with him telling me they would definitely be able to fix it if I sent it in and me telling him this problem has been happening for years so if Asus could fix it, wouldn't they have done so by now?

Anyway my question is, has anyone sent in their laptop to repair this issue and had any luck? This laptop is three days old and I'd really rather not pay to ship it if I don't have to, however, if someone has been successful with sending it in, I'd go for it.

Also, is there an option for me to adjust the color settings on my display (Windows 10)? I can't find anything when I looked. I'm wondering if that could fix the issue enough for me to live with it.

    Thanks!

An employee of any business will "never have any knowledge of the issue", regardless of how prevalent it is haha. Although in my experience/opinion, Asus is a prime example of a business without transparency. They'd rather you ship the damn thing in, than tell you to calibrate, update, or whatever, something yourself. It's absolutely ridiculous, and just a waste of time/money. A bit late here, but any update with it all? Interested to see if you sent it in, and any change was made. Hopefully it worked out for you.

Don't send it in. There is plainly a difference in my Sony Z11 laptop display. I google "yellow" and pick a photo and compare the same photo on my UX303. The displays show an obvious difference. Since I am red/green color blind I don't think the difference effects me as much but even I can tell between the two displays. Since I plug my UX303 into a 40" display 95 percent of the time and the mustard yellow is gone on the additional display I am keeping my UX303 as it serves as a desktop replacement quite well. There is nothing you can do to get true yellows on the UX303 in my opinion, but connect it via HDMI to a display and the mustard yellows are gone.
The fault is definitely in the UX303 display and sending it in will only cost you additional shipping cost and no results.

Then maybe you should send it in if they will give you the SDC394A version
