I recently posted about an issue my UX32VD had with identifying the 32 GB iSSD after a BSOD (got no replies). I "fixed" this by installing Win7 on the Hitachi 500 GB HDD instead of the iSSD, but a new problem arose. Windows took about 20 minutes to start up (during the Starting Windows segment), every time. The computer worked pretty well when it had started up, though, even though installing drivers took a very long time.

Today I decided to buy an SSD, and put that in instead of the Hitachi 500 GB HDD. I thought that would surely fix the problem once and for all.

I chose a Samsung 840 series 250 GB, and installing it in the computer went without a hitch. I then proceeded to install Win7 on it, which took a bit longer than I expected, but no worries.

Then the exact problem occurs. Windows takes forever to start up (10 minutes, it seems). I haven't done much else with the computer so far, as I would like to know if this is fixable before I waste my time.

Does anyone have any idea what is causing this? Have I voided my warranty by installing an SSD (as far as I can tell, from the info boot, I have not)? If not, is there anything I can do, or should I contact Asus or my reseller?

Any help would be much appreciated, as school starts next week and I need my computer by my side :)

I believe I've solved it! It turned out the solution was to deactivate the iSSD in Device Manager.
Boot time from 10 minutes to 10 seconds.

If I remember correctly, getting to the hard drive requires opening the case, which voids the warranty.

As for the boot issue, it sounds like there's a hardware conflict with that iSSD, reserved for the Instant On. Did you happen to format or do anything with the iSSD?

EDIT: Nice! I was going to suggest disabling it but wasn't sure if you wanted to eventually use it again. Hopefully your woes are solved!
