My Asus Zenbook UX32VD has a a combo audio jack (audio out/headphone and audio in/external mic). From other threads I've read, iPhone based headphones should work.

However, when I plugin in my Apple iPhone earbuds, Windows does not recognize the external mic.
My internal speakers are disabled, and sound comes through my earbuds. My internal mic is not disabled.

I've also tried using my other set of headphones (it is a third party headphone that is supported on my iPhone) and I get the same result.

Could this be a hardware issue, and if so, should I send to Asus (my laptop is still under warranty)?
