    Hi,

I am going to be traveling overseas in a few months and I was wondering what everyone thinks is the minimum Asus laptop/netbook that I could buy to run photoshop smoothly? Do you think the n10 could handle some everyday color correction, cropping, and contrast editing?

    Thanks,

    Adam

I assume most of them will "run" it. Are you using the full version of Photoshop or are you using Photoshop Elements. Elements is a pared-down version of the product designed for people that want to do simple photo editing etc.

    Photoshop Elements

There is also Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2

The N10 should be able to handle what you want it to do relatively well. My older laptop ran Photoshop Elements without a problem, albeit, a little slower than some of today's laptops.

I don't see how it wouldn't. My old HP laptop with a 1.8GHz CPU and 8400GS could run it very smoothly.

Hell, my HP with a 1.6 Ghz Dual Core AMD processor and a mobile nVidia 6150 with like 60Mb of dedicated memory and 1Gb of RAM was able to at least "run" it, albeit not very smoothly...

At this point, most mid-range laptops have about 3-4Gb of RAM, Dual Core 2.0Ghz processors, and much better integrated graphics cards, at least relative to mine. I'd say as long as you are spending more than $500, you'll have a laptop that will run it smoothly no problem.

Most netbooks aren't going to be able to run it very well at all, unless you want to spend a good penny, so I'd recommend finding something around 14-15 inches.

depends more on which photoshop you plan to use. i find cs4 somewhat lagging even on my g50. cs3 runs like a breeze.
dont forget about screen resolution either. ps on 1024x768 will be hard.
