Will Asus preload a system with Windows XP or will they only load Vista on new notebooks?

    thanks!

Asus only ships their Ensemble models with Vista installed, and has been for several months now. For the whitebox customizable models, some resellers will offer the option of Vista or XP.

Means that you have to get your own copy of XP.

    Thanks for the responses!

and are there any issues with XP and the Asus F3SV-1. Are all the drivers available for it? and is there a way to make my non-bootable cd of XP work with a notebook since there is no floppy drive?

    thanks!

    About issues I don't know.

You can certainly run the CD. The simplest way, download the FreeDOS ISO, burn on another CD, boot from it, swap the CDs, and run the Win installation.

In the worst case, you can get a USB floppy drive, or a flash pen drive with DOS installed (although these are rare).

There should be no issues for the F3, most of the hardware out there will have XP drivers. It's time to Google!
