Hello
Does anyone know how to make an Asus laptop stop charging the battery if it's above 90%?
Long story:
A friend bought an Asus X55VD this summer, and I installed Windows 7 for him, and all the drivers. I remember there was an Asus utility that was installed with the drivers that allowed you to choose if you want to stop charging the battery if it's above 90% (in order to prolong the life of the battery). My friend wanted it on, so I left it on for him.
A few months back, his HDD started to fail, so he sent the laptop back and got the HDD replaced under warranty. After he got the laptop back, I again installed Windows 7 for him, and all the drivers, just like before. Only now, I can't find that utility anywhere (I can't even remember what it's called). The battery keeps charging to 100% every time. I know I installed all the latest drivers from the Asus site, just like the first time, and I'm sure I've installed all of them.
If anybody has an Asus laptop that allows you to stop charging the battery if above 90%, can you please tell me which application it is? And where it's located on the start menu, or in Program files?
Thanks

If you drain the battery below 89% and then try to charge it again so it may charge straight to 100%.
However, battery has limited life cycle like 500 cycles so if you charge it to 100% once then it's considered a cycle completed. -
I know that there was an program (included in the drivers) that allowed you to turn on that protection circuit so that the battery won't charge if it is at 93% (for example) and I plug the laptop in. But I can't find the program anywhere.
That's why I'm asking if anybody has the same type of laptop and has that same program, please tell me where I can find it, or what is its name.
