video card is the bottleneck, so the super powerfull cpu isnt going to do much at all in a game unless its a highly cpu dependant game like FSX.

There is a really good chance the 8800m card will go into a C90 so there you go, much better scores. Even before then C90 owners will be able to make G1S owners cry with superpi scores :p

that is almost 1000 points higher then the g1s 8600gt. the reason is obviously a more powerfull cpu as well as the memory being inherently faster just becuase the cpu is faster even though the ram is still 667mhz. i didnt think it woul dbe that much higher. perhaps its overclocked

I'm also hoping for the 8800m in the C90. Your right that since the CPU can be overclocked to around 3ghz the bottleneck is the gpu for gaming. Hopefully we will hear some news with regards to this in a few weeks.

I dont think that 1000 points is so much the cpu, as it is because the 8600 that comes in the c90 has 512mb ram vs the 256 of the G1S.

It doesnt say the resolution it was tested at tho eather.

it all depends on what resolution the made the test on. The G1s gets that same score at 1024 x 768

Too many complication. I have so many people telling me the 8600gt gets 4600+ 3dmark06 but its all the resolution!! Test it on 1024x768 or 1280x*** the results differ!! Please check the sources correctly.

Don't get your hopes up about putting an 8800 in the C90, you will probably be disappointed. perhaps when the 9600M comes out in a year and a half or so you will be happy to upgrade to that, but the higher end cards are just not going to fit in the chassis...

you guys have any idea how long this machine will run on battery?
i mean it has a desktop cpu in it. and the standing out fan at the back...
this "lappy" must be something... ^_^

the battery life is about 2-3 hours of normal usage, similiar to the 17" laptops on the market right now. The fans should run at low speed in normal usage, which is hardly audible. But if u use the overclock mod(25% in cpu) included in C90s, the fans would start screaming and the battery life drops to about 20mins.

It was stated that it last about 81minutes not 2-3hours and that was in normal mode or even battery saving mode.

I would find the 2-3 mark unlikely considering a desktop processor, possible high end graphics and 4 fans. If it was it would have to be with a nine cell considering that from personal experience I know that a six cell can only do at max 2hours with mobile components.

I get my information from BTOtech. It says on the specification that the battery life is about 2-3 hrs base on 6 cell. I doubt they will make wild guess about the speciafication because BTOtech is an reputable reseller. The things that i want point out is that battery life depends on which cpu u put in it. an E4300 is very differnce from an X6800 in power consumption. As of now, until the C90s is out, no one knows for sure. I am merely expressing my opion here.

And for those of u think C90 is extreme, please check this monster out, this will make C90 look like a toy. http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3754

You cannot compare anything to the 9260. It costs twice as much as the C90 if not more than that. Compare something that costs half the price of the C90 with the C90... umm not gonna happen. The C90 packs the most punch for its price than any other notebook I have seen. I will be very happy when mine arrives on my doorstep in a few weeks :D.

What I was trying to say is that C90s is not going to burn itself because there is even more radical designs out there that work. I guess no one got it :( If it offends some of u, I take it back. I personally has not doubt about the performance of C90

    i agree..
    you cant compare those 2.
the C90 is 15 inch. carrying a 15" NB compared to a 17 one is way different ofcourse.
and look at that sager. its THICK...

the c90 for its size , specs and price, is way better than the that sager. in my opinion. :D

Yeah I did an exact spec for spec markup between the c90 and the sager. The difference for exact same specs except the 7950 gtx vs 8600gt was a whopping $1200.

Its been the 512mb 8600gt for as long as I know. I have heard no news of that changing and 99.9% sure it wont.

Its due out here in a week or so, and there is no other card on the market to take its place.

How would the 8600GT 512mb go against the AMD M71X?
