Just got my new c90s in yesterday and I have installed everything that came on the cd's. I have sound when I watch videos with Media Player classic and other programs. I also have sound when I play Counter-strike, but I do not however have sound when I play any other games, such as Crysis and Supreme Commander. Im running Windows xp Pro. When I go to the Sounds and Audio Device properties it says No Audio Device. Could this me the problem?
I've been looking for hours trying to see if any one has had this problem and im pretty much in the dark as of right now.

Try download the new drivers from the Asus website. Also update your bios

Download lastest audio drivers from support.asus.com or realtek's website (if you got the ACxxxx number).

I think it might have a link with HD sound but I thought it was only under Vista.

goto Device Manager, is there any devices that are "Unknown" or with a Yellow exclamation mark?

Well it's obvious that the sound card is one of those devices that's not being installed properly.

Let me ask you this: What drivers have you installed since reinstalling your OS? Was the Intel Chipset driver one of them? Since the Intel INF driver contains the Southbridge/Legacy/USB root hub, some of your peripherals may not be identified properly without the Chipset drivers.

Install your webcam(USB device I think) and your Fingerprint Sensor as well. Take that out of the equation before tackling the sound problem.

Christ, remind yourself to let us know the OS your running next time. I thought it was Vista you were running.

You need to find the third party driver as ASUS doesn't supply you the XP drivers from their site. I can't remember what's on the G1S but I believe it's a RealTek soundcard (HD Audio/SoundMAX). EDIT( I think I was thinking about something else at that moment! LOL)

Yeesh! OK, well you need to get the XP driver?? lol

i like to get plagued with computer problems because it keeps me busy

but pretty sure going to vista is not the answer haha i like the look of it but idk i kinda want to swap over to XP even though i have 0 i mean 0 problems running vista smoothly :)

Ha well I tried to install Vista Ultimate ,but it kept getting stuck at the very end when it would run vista for the first time so I went back to xp Pro...
Now i'm having problems with my camera not installing. Every time I click on AMcap it gives me and error saying "Sorry, no video capture hardware." Yet the other day it was working fine before i tried to install Vista. Any idea whats going on with that?
