From the few laptops I have seen, the cameras on them are all 1.3mp. Why in this age are they still 1.3? Isn't the standard at least a 2mp camera? Even most cellphones are 3.2 or even 5.

Is having a 1.3 cost efficient or something? How much more is it to produce a 5mp camera?

because for internet chatting with the camera, 2.0mp is overkill.

yeah, agreed. Also, it would raise costs to put higher resolution webcams, and we all know no one wants to raise costs. Although, it would definitely be an awesome feature (or option) to have a high resolution built in camera. Just to say you have one, really :)

Well, i can only vouch for my f8, but i must say that 2mp or more would be the only thing that can do justice. The 1.3mp camera is a complete waste of technology.

Especially in this day and age, youd think that a 2mp push should be going on because thats a quality 320*240 res, which is well put for 500kb+ connections. . .

Once again, my asus camera sucks, its the only thing on my laptop i wish i could change.
