I am picking up my new asus today. I am interested in trying a clean install. However I've never done it. Do you think I should try it frm the instructions on the post in the asus gaming sub forum or just use pcdecrapifier. I know it will leave some remnants but I guess it's better than nothing. I figure as long as I burn recovery discs, if I mess up a clean install I can just revert to the discs & decrapifier.

If you mean this guide: http://forum.notebookreview.com/asu...lk-through-doing-clean-windows-7-install.html, then go ahead. The steps are pretty much the same, some drivers and utilities may not exactly be the same. You can take at the asus bloatware guide too to decide which utility you want to keep.
You will need The ATK package though.
