    Hi,
I have a Asus eee PC 4G with 7" screen which i bought for travelling purpose but i find the screen size and the keyboard a little small.Iam deciding to sell it and buy a 10" 1000H model.
Someone who has used both can guide me if the 10" screen seems better and if the size of the keyboard is bigger?
Also i use skype a lot (without headphones) and found the speakers to be a bit underpowered. Is there any improvement in them?
    Thanks

I have a 900 model Asus EEE PC on its way too me. Whilst I haven't owned either of the models you speak of, I have played around with them a fair bit.

I would have to say the 1000's larger keyboard will be much easier to type on when compared with the 701. The 701's keyboard is very small, makes any sort of sustained typing quite difficult, although you do get used to it (and I have smallish hands). The 1000 has a larger more complete keyboard, I found it much easier to type rapidly with far less mistakes caused by inadvertently mashing the wrong key!

Screen wise, again, you'll see a big difference between the two. The 1000 has a 10" screen using the 1024 x 768 res. This means most websites will fit onto your screen fine, unlike the 701. You won't have to scroll left and right on the 1000.

Speaker wise, I can't back this up 100%, but from what I've heard the 701 actually has better speakers, which are mounted either side of the screen, where-as the 1000 has them underneath it.

Your best bet mate is to go into your nearest store and have a play with them. Harvey Norman out here in Oz land has all the Asus models along with the Acer's on display. Was really good to go in and play with them all at once, plus compare them to each other specs and size wise.

I will say that the 1000 in my opinion is just a tiny bit too big. The 900 is the right size for what I want, something small and portable to throw in a bag or have on the lap whilst watching TV. I don't plan on doing much typing with it. If you do plan on doing some more intense typing, I'd go with the 1000. And remember the battery is much better on the 1000.

Hope this helps somewhat. Im looking forward to getting my 900.

I just wanted to point out the resolution is 1024x600, the same as on the 900 and 901 models.

And you would notice a nice positive difference in screen and keyboard size in the 1000 model vs the 700 series. But I also think the 1000 is a little too big and find the 900/901 size better for me.
