    Hello everyone.
So I was cleaning my laptop, I took out the cooling fan and cleaned all the dust on it and also cleaned the air vents, I used a dry cloth and cotton tips. Then I put everything back and plugged it on battery power, it didn't boot :( . First things to notice: power led on, HD activity led on. Turned it off (holding the power button) and started to think about what to do. The best idea I had was to take apart the back of the case, so I could search the maindboard for any tip about that. While I was taking out the screws I tried to boot it several times, using AC and battery power. No luck. Thing to notice, the three upper leds (above the power button) blink one time, the the HD led start to blink, like it was really booting. On one of these times trying to boot, I accidentaly forgot it "on" for like 10 minutes, on AC power. When I got back, I saw the cooling fan on, then I powered the lappy off and on again, WHOA BOOT SURPRISE. I was soooo happy that I turned it off again lmao. Then I started puting the screws back, and closed it, only to discover that it wasn't booting anymore. Since I didn't finish the disassembly process, I don't know what caused it to turn on again. I also tried leaving it on for the fan to start and then power cicle it, no luck.
Other things I tried: connecting to external TV, monitor. Boot without HD, DVD drive, memory (lol). The steps provided in the tricks and tips guide.
So, what do you guys think?
Also, I live in Brazil and already sent an email to Asus support and they said that Asus doesn't provide technical support here.

    Thanks for any replies.

This happens to me all the time :p
It's most likely a loose connection somewhere. Recheck all your connectors to make sure they are securely seated and try booting again.

    Thanks for the answer David.
I am opening it again, but I have found 2 wires (one black and one white) that come from the the wlan card and go through the cooling block and end at the monitor connections. If I take them out, how I will be able to put them back? Since I don't plan to mess with the cooler (I don't have thermal paste here), I will have to find a way to get them through that small place, is that possible? With these wires plugged, it is impossible to remove the monitor.

    Thanks for any answers.

UPADATE 1: I got it to boot again yesterday (01/13). I even took photos as proof, lol. Now it ain't booting anymore, I'm going to try and test some hardware setups and see what I get.

UPDATE 2: I tried to power it on again, using battery power, without HD and DVD drive. It got on, so I think that I am halfway on the fixing process yeeehaw! But I am thinking about one thing, as soon as I pressed the power button, the cooling fan kicked in, but the heatsink is cold. After 2 minutes powered on (stuck on that "insert boot media" screen), the heatsink temp got up very fast... hmmm strage.

It's working again. After my second update in the previous post, I removed one memory stick and got it to boot. That time I didn't turn it off, and left it powered on at the bios screen. When I came back to it, I made some tests and got it to work again, the problem must have been on the memory sticks. Now everything is back to normal. Thanks for the help David.

    Hello, welcome to the forums.

Please detail your problem. Also, it's better if we try to solve it on the forum, it's highly unlikely people are going to take the extra effort to contact you via MSN to solve a problem that, after all, is yours.
