    hey (vista ultimate)

i have a problem, i cant use my recovery partition. when i hit the button f9 during boot, i get the vista boot manager, then i hit vista, but it just starts the computer normally.

maybe it is because i installed windows xp yesterday and it was installed on drive E. but my vista was on C. then something happened, xp did not work properly so i installed xp again then it worked properly but this time i had to install xp on E again, but my c drive was empty, which i think means that my recovery partition was deleted. okay, so i went back to vista, but with my recovery cd. vista was then installed on c drive which only had approx 8 gb in it. and the E drive was about 139gb and xp was still in that. then i used vistas build - in partition manager to deletede the E drive. after that i extended the c drive, now my c rive was approx 149 gb. but my recovery partition was deleted :( .

okay some hours after i found out that I had a full pc backup with vista ULTIMATES build in backup manager. it is like northon ghost. and was about 32 gb, all my files and programmes where on that. that made me happy. i used that to recover my pc and it was succesfull. my c drive was back with vista on it. and it was 139 gb like it used to be.
and according to vistas partition manager i also had my recovery partition back.....

SO TO THE PROBLEM WHY DOES MY RECOVERY PARTITION NOT WORK ANY MORE?
    :D :) :p

Make sure that the recovery partition is called "RECOVERY" and that it is hidden. I ghost copied my recovery partition back and it refused to boot from that partition until it was set to be hidden...not sure how much this applies to a different model, but it is an easy thing to try.
