Asus g51j brick and mortar?

Hello everyone. I want to check out that Asus g51j in person. Anybody know if there are any stores that carry them? Like Best Buy or something? I'm in Chicago, so we've got Best Buy and a CompUSA still around I think...no Fry's as far as I know.

I did? In what way exactly? I called my local Best Buy and they don't have them...

 

I don't believe any stores carry them. Currently all online resellers I've seen are out of stock as well.

Just to let you know...there is a Fry's here in the Chicago area. It's right off of I-355 on Finley avenue I think. We also have a couple of Microcenters as well. But as Element said....the G51J can't be found in a B&M store.

 

A liter of cola can't be found in a Dimpus Burger either.

Man, it took me so long to notice largefarva's name and realize what the hell was going on. But thanks for the Fry's tip, I'll have to go check that out.

 

Just a heads up...as of a month ago the only ASUS laptop at Fry's was basically the same $999 model found at Best Buy. I'm quite positive you can't find a G51J there.

 

Yeah I figured. I'm kind of leaning towards the NP8690 now anyway but I'm sure no stores carry that as well. Anyway I suppose I'm getting off topic, cheers.

Abt Electronics in Glenview, IL should have them in the store shortly. Also with anything at Abt you can always get it cheaper than list, just ask the salesperson, I go there a ton and never pay their original asking price, unless its a display/return which is most often priced under cost (with full warranty and 30day no questions asked return policy). ABT is the bomb.

Not sure exactly, but based on previous releases they are typically a month or two behind. They are working on a new internal computer store called "conneted" which is almost finished, so who knows if they are waiting before bringing in a lot of new stock.

Abt is quite the place and totally worth a trip regardless.

 

Just to let you guys know....I got an email the other day saying that abt in the Chicago area has the G51J-A1 in stock now. Too bad they coudln't have been a week earlier or I would have just ran down there and picked one up locally.
