    Hello there.
    I own a ASUS - Notebooks- ASUS K52JK , the one with a i5 430M and 320GB 5400 rpm.
Here is the thing : i`m using this mostly for gaming and i have some problems. While some games like Dead Space 2 , COD Black Ops 2 are played at the highest details , some of them aren't able to run at low ( ex Metro 2033 , Trine ). What i find really weird and confuses me a bit is another thing. If i run Syndicate while i have World of Warcraft opened in background it's the same thing as running Syndicate alone. Is ati 5145 a poor graphic card ? can i replace it ? what's you're take on this guys ?

i have the 3650, which is around the same class as the 5145, and when i play black ops 2 i can only play on low settings if i dont want too much lag, so not sure how you play on highest. not sure about the other games you mentioned, i've never played metro 2033 so i dont know, but if you look at the recommended requirement, they ask for a GTX 260, which is a mid-high end card, and the 5145 is wayy below it, so lag would be expected on 5154

You can't upgrade your video card and yeah, the 5145 is pretty weak.

i guess depends on what module your card is for. like for my 3650 its MXM II, so any MXM II card would work. but you also have to factor in heat problems, bios compatibility etc. I dont think you could upgrade to anything that would run the games you want and still have it stay within the laptop's heat limits

thnx for the replies.so it seems that there is no other option than buying a new laptop/pc ?

edit : on a different i've read the guides about bios updating but i haven't really found the reasons regarding why do it ? do you guys do it only when something is wrong ? or does it bring anything new and i should do it ?

When i update a bios, i follow the if it ain't broken don't fix it approach. For example, I updates the bios on my G73 because it fixed some rather annoying issues and also changed the fan profile to have the video card run a bit cooler. If you have no issues that the new bios fixes, there isn't a real need to update. The annoying thing is that Asus almost never says what their bios updates for laptops actually change/fix.

i think you need to flash a new bios when you put in a graphic card from a different notebook manufacture. like if you want to put an acer graphics card into your asus, you need to reflash the bios for it to work. The other time you want to upgrade bios is when something goes wrong etc
