Ive seached the forum and i havent found much on this laptop.
    ASUS K42JR-A1
I need a laptop soon and i'm not sure which one i should get.

Its one of the new laptops shown in the new asus magazine.
    specs from excaliberpc:
    Intel Core i5-430M (2.26GHz) Processor,
    14" HD 16:9 (1366x768) LED Display,
    4GB DDR3 1066MHz Memory,
    500GB 7200RPM Hard Drive,
    DVD Super Multi Drive,
    ATi 5470 1GB DDR3 Graphics Card,
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
    6 cell battery
    13.9" x 9.5" x 1.4 ~ 1.5" (W x D x H)

The differences from the u30jc are
    -NVIDIA G310M 512MB DDR3 Graphics Card as oposed to the 5470 1gb ddr3 on the k42jr
    -320gb hdd
    -8 cell battery
    -13.3"
    -13.12" x 9.52" x 0.8"-1.2" (W x D x H) so it is slightly smaller and thinner than the k42jr (13.9" x 9.5" x 1.4 ~ 1.5")

    Price
    u30jc from excaliberpc - $899us
    k42jr from excaliberpc - $885us

the ul30jc is only better in its physical size and battery life.Everything eles is in favor of the k42jr
    Which one would you reccomend?

I would personally go for the Asus K42JR-A1, although I have just learned about this model today and can not find one unboxing review of it on the web (although someone here in these forums already started a thread and is in the process of giving us a user review on it), but the specs of this laptop are fantastic, and it's exactly what i'm looking for in my next laptop.

But I'm waiting until I see more opinions on it first. Before then I'm not buying.
