I want a 15" laptop from Asus but don't want anything over 6 lbs. Something weight wise like the MacBook Pro or Dell XPS 1530/Insprion 15...

I cannot find details on the Asus website without digging deep and its just a pain to even keep straigh what laptops are available for me (I'm in the US). They definitely need a usability expert to redesign their site.

    Can anyone shed some light?

If I have to go the 14" path, I will but I prefer 15" because I want as much space as possible and still be under 6 lbs.

    Thanks.

There's currently no 15" Asus notebooks that are less than 6lbs. You'll probably have to settle with a 14 incher:
N80, N81, and F80 series would fit your weight requirement.

Yeah....depending on your budget, you'd be best off with either the N80Vn or N81Vp (the F80 costs approximately the same as the N80, yet offers far less performance.)

You can't buy Asus models from their website directly, so you'd be best off looking at what Asus notebooks are available at the reseller websites themselves. GenTech PC is one of the more favored resellers on the boards, many of us can vouch for them. Newegg.com is also a good option.

Asus is not known for being much on the lighter side, and they have deals with retailers that sell the laptops for them, the most known one is NewEgg.

Asus laptops used to be on the lighter side, not so much anymore.

    I mean, at one point, they had a lineup with the 3.4lb W5F (12"), the 4.2lb W7J (13"), the 4.8lb W3J (14"), and 5.6lb V6J (15"). That was maybe mid-2006?

It depends Parveen, If you want something that is light and 15" Asus has a few choices only. I suggest you wait for the new Asus U series notebooks. Im assuming they will be light as light seems to be the focus on the U and UX models.

    you wont be gaming right?

Vicious, Lol When Asus comes out with a 20" notebook it'll be even harder for him ;)
