I have sucessfully installed a new internal wifi card with N standard so I can utilize a new external HDD hooked up to a linksys WRT610N router at high speed with my W3J

First card was a Gigabyte http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=4318962&postcount=1450

A few case mods, ran the third Aerial under the GPU and along by the heat vent, worked well, but because it wasn't an intel card the wifi wouldn't turn on and off when using the shortcut key and everytime I wanted to connect it asked for the access pasword. so I got a new Intel wifi wireless N card that comes with intel proset wireless, which works well.

Unfortunately wifi will not turn off using the shortcut key along the side of the chassis.

Who has a laptop with wirelessN and shortcut key to turn on and off wifi? Could you plesae let me know and I will download the Intel wireless drivers from Asus web site and see if that works.

PS windows 7 is aparently availabe for public beta download from tomorrow!

Mine works fine. I use the latest intel drivers and fn+f2 does the trick. Mine is native , in a manner of speaking. Asus ATK OSD +wi-fi console will work with any driver. Be it Intel or Asus.

Thanks for replying, i've been buisy, setting up a tripple boot OS XP Vista and Windoes 7.

Yeah I was wondering if Asus had modified the wireless console to accept commands from Asus ATK OSD? I installed using the Intel Proset wireless that came with the new wifi card, not from the Asus site, because the W3J does not naturally have wireless N, so will download Proset wireless driver for your laptop and try it.

    Cheers
