Perhaps i missed the post somewhere. Asus has been experimenting with this for about a few months now and now it is official. All you happy campers can now call them 24/7. They expanded their team 5 fold as it appears. a word of caution thoughl. please do not call them with software issues. they will always tell you the same thing. reintall the windows!

Thanks to eddie from geared2play.com for emailing the solution to my problem.

For some reason the computer wont start when the battery is that low?

I removed the battery with it plugged in, and then it started.

this is only for rma and support. it depends how you sent it back to them. if you sent it by ground maybee that is why especially if you ar eon the east coast. it may have never got there. it is a good practice to track any boxes you are sending. typically their turn around with MOST laptops is jus ta few business days.

I called the number using option 4 and got a recoding saying there hours are 7:30 am to 6:30 PM Pacific time. I have left messages and they can't seem to return them or E-mail me but I am going to keep trying.

I'm going to follow up with Fed Ex and I think I might talk to Visa as well. At this piont I'd really just like a refund and chalk it up to experience.

I see from your last 10 post your a forum troll so this will be my last post directed at you.

You stated that the Asus support is 24 hours and sorry it is not.

"ASUS Phone and Email Support " I understand the no go on the phone its the no E-mail that I question.

Are you a dealer of notebooks? You must have something to gain but by your web site I didn't understand it. Calling you CC just insures if there is a problem that it is covered since sometimes there is a 30 day clause. SOME vendors like to stretch it out to beat out the 30 days knowing that.

Any way the facts are I called this morning at 10:45 am EST my new laptop was shipped yesterday and should be here this afternoon. It arrirved according to Fed X March 7 2007 so this will be a 2 week process by my account if it shows up today.

I'm going to consolidate my notes and do a post on my RMA experience to help others people understand the process.

Geared2Play's point was that you shouldn't punish the reseller for something that Asus is doing, which the reseller has no control over.

Well i guess my point is that I paid 1400$ for a lap top that since day one has not worked correctly so 6 weeks later i am still with out. I understand that the vendor (newegg) does not have control over what they sell but in the end they do have responsibilty.

So in the end I had to buy another computer since my wife does some at home page layout. So really im down for 2000$. Oh and the Toshiba lap top I bought and returned for a 15% restocking fee I just considered a rental fee. So in all I actually have bought 3 computers in the last 2 months so yes I'm starting to get a little frustrated.

Its working out I'm getting a new laptop. Of course it wont have XP so i'll have to buy another copy along with one for this Vista beauty Im using now (crashed 2'sx logging in here) and 4-6 hours I tried to get the old lap top to work. maybe I can write all these losses off

out of the last 100 times that i have had to send whole laptops to asus they turned 99 out of 100 around in 2 business day. 1 may have taken a week. i dont know what you bought but asus does not take mroe then a week to fix and reship your laptop. either your laptop never got to them, or their return to you never arrived. in either case you should contact the rma dept within a week. not wait 6 weeks. their turn around is less then a week in the states for any product less then a year and even if over a year their turn around is still less then a week. you have a problem and it has nothing to do with how long it has taken asus to repair/replace your laptop
