Does anyone know if the silver Asus logo can be easily removed from the lid of the w3v (the brushed aluminum piece)?

It looks like a sticker to me but when I tried to gently removed it the thing didn't want to cooperate and peel off easily.

Anyway, I didn't want to apply any unnecessary trauma to my expensive toy if it is not removable. Any ideas?

It's not a sticker and good luck... it's a pain. You could take your lid off and bang out the embossed asus logo if you wanted too.. but I wouldn't suggest that either.

it's funny you posted this, I was just looking at that last night. I was curious as well if it was a sticker or what. I was worried about it coming off in the future. When i first got my W3V I thought it was engraved but obviously it's elevated above the lid, so it would seem that its a sticker.

I wouldn't mess with it though, looks like you would scratch the lid before you actually got it off.

Thanks for the replies. I'm glad I asked instead of messing with it anymore. I would hate to scratch the lid.

I am thinking of having some graphics painted on the lid and also having the entire lid painted with a transparent color. If the logo was easily removed it would open up a lot more design possibilities but I'll just have the painter work around the logo.

    Thanks again.

Right.... if you're going to have the lid painted, you might be better off getting a lid for the z63a's.... the carbon fiber top accepts paint a lot better and is easier to prep. If you're all going to be painted, you're not going to feel or see the aluminum anyway. Now if you were going to try to just anodize that lid a different color... that works, but there's a lot of prep... but you could atleast still see if was aluminum.
