Hi guys, I got a new lappy a few weeks ago, an asus m51sn. It's great all around, except the battery life is a bit...crap, about 2 and a half hours. As I am using it for uni this year I will need a little extra time, so i'm going to buy a 9cell battery to go with it's current 6 cell battery.

Now here is the question, In Australia I can not find stock of this battery ANYWHERE. Every place says out of stock and availability in 16 days or more. The model/serial number is 90-NI11B2000Y. The only place I can find this battery is at some American stores. NOW, if i purchased this battery would there be any compatibility issues with my Australian laptop? The model number is the same but i just want to make sure before i buy.

Thanks guys, i'm new to the world of laptops.

Its the same computer, same battery, there shouldnt be any compatibility issues, its a standardized system, so yea, if you bought it from an American store it would be fine, shipping must be hideous tho

2 and a half hours isnt enough? JEBUS!!! lol, oh well, good luck

Since you have the M51sn (i assume you have t9300 and 9500m GS), what is the 3dmark06 score that you get without overclocking?

I get nearly 3900 marks on 06 with the standard 800v lines of resolution.

as for the battery life, i am using it for uni, so 2 and a half hours is barely enough for my shortest day.

Heh, I suppose Eykal was being sarcastic when he said that 2:30 hours should be enough :)

Sad to see that ASUS yet again failed to make proper use of the power consumption improvements in the new series of GPUs and CPUs.

Yea, i don't normally use the battery, so idc about battery life
    yes i was being sarcastic
but like i said, it should work as long as the laptop version taht you got doesnt have any major changes compared to the other mass produced standardized ones

M51 series uses the same battery for F3 series, there will be no compatibility issues:
