In current production some of the B series, the G73Jw-3DE, and Eee 1015PEM have matte screens, among others.

I never understood why majority of laptop screens are mirror finish these days! They are so irritating to work on!

yea, I'm only interested in software development and just can't stand the glossy screens with text.

Glossy screens give 'darker blacks, and lighter whites' which makes it better for people watching videos, or playing games.
I personally have NO PROBLEM with a Glossy screen, and no problem with a matte screen.

What I find freakin' annoying is the stupid 1366x768 resolution! GAH! So damn annoying!

Same here (with a Samsung laptop). When I want to look in a mirror, then I will look in the mirror in the bathroom, but not 'in' my laptop screen

It's probably cheaper to make (glossy screens).

I would look for a high quality glossy screen rather than the matte one. Currently I am using 14.1" 1440 x 900 glossy which has very little reflection. Plus it has the advantage of more brilliant colors.

On the other hand my sister has a HP-dv4t and she is watching herself day and night. :D
