Hi
the n550jv & n750jv have a B&O "quad-array" speakers. I don't know what they are exactly, but I have been told that each speaker takes care of difference frequencies. With the external subwoofer, this should enhance the sorround effect, but also results in the right speakers being louder and clearer than the left speakers and this totally ruins the stereo effect in some movies or songs.
Do you know if this can be corrected by software or driver, i.e. to let the speakers play as normal stereo speakers instead of this propriatory B&O solution?
thanks!

You can try using Media player classic from K-Lite Mega Codec installation and then find an option in the playback software to enable "Audio Normalization" which will make the sound equal on both sides.
In short:
1. Download K-Lite Mega Codec (don't install the junks, be sure to opt out).
2. Open up Media Player Classic, press O to enter Options menu, go to Audio Switcher under Internal Filters.
3. Check the box "Normalize", then click on OK to close the Options menu.
4. Play the movie/music. -
Many thanks for your help Kevin. I did what you suggested and although I get a slight improvement, now it is more evident that the sound from the right speaker is much clearer than the left. So it is not only a problem of balance but also quality of the sound - overall I would say that the left speaker sound is .. tinny.
if it helps, I could make a video while testing the speakers -
