I have buyed an Asus n551jw few days ago, I'm overall satisfied but I have noted something strange with the spacebar key.
The spacebar is the only key lower than the others ( photo URL), and the spacebar is not sensible at the ends(edges), in other words, pushing spacebar at the right or left ends(edges) doesn't work.
I have to push 5mm/1cm toward the bar middle in order to trigger the key, this is a bit uncomfortable.
I have never seen a spacebar which doesn't trigger by pushing at the ends(edges).

I have questions for the other n551j owners:
    1. Is your spacebar low respect the other keys too?
    2. Have your spacebar poor sensibility at the right and left ends(extremities)?
You can see my spacebar and keys shape/size in this photo: http://postimg.org/image/jmc0t317n/
I'm trying to undestand if this is a common problem, a n551jw defect (poor keys design), or is only a defect of my notebook and have I to ask amazon to be refunded?

    Thanks in advance
P.s: I have tried to attach the keyboard photo here but the "Upload a File"is not working in firefox.

    UPDATE on this topic.
I have asked amazon the product substitution; they sent another n551jw to me (different serial), the new one works well and the space bar issue is disappeared. So, I was right and it was product defect... BUT
I have noticed that the new one space bar key is still a bit strange, it looks a bit bent with a little "U shape". You have to look from the below in order to see the strange shape, so I accepted the notebook as a working one.

    BUT

It looks like they have simply hacked the space bar in order to make it work like intended.
My fear is that they are fixing a defective notebook batch in an inelegant way.

So, pay attention and let's ask product substitution for any space bar issue.
Hope you find this post useful.

I'm a bit disappointed by ASUS, I think that this defect and the inelegant fix, are not acceptable for a 1000$/€ notebook.
