Hey guys,
so, simple situation. I was using my laptop one night, closed it down (for hibernate/sleep). Next morning, I opened it up, it just had a black screen. Unfazed, I just held the power button until it shut-down, turned it on and once again, black screen. Now, the power button does light up, and it does make the "boot-up sound" (You know, that weird disk-spinning noise that stops for a sec and starts again) and the fans turn on, but no light on the screen.
Things I've tried:
1. Connect it to HDMI, but still no image.
2. I took off the battery and unplugged it, held the power button for 30 seconds, then connected it, and turned it on, but still nothing.
Any suggestions? I really rather not have to RMA it...

Have yout tried the first suggestion here ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Troubleshooting N56VZ

The only thing on that list that I haven't tried is using the reset hole, however I don't if the Asus N56vz even has one, and if it does, how does it look like? I feel like they make no mention of where it is other than "the bottom" (?)

Sorry i did not realize that was a generic guide, on the G73JH it is the smallest hole left of the removable cover http://www.laptop-enews.com/images/ASUS G73JW-A1 Review_4.jpg I could not find a photo of your model
