    Asus notebook warranty question--ebay

    Hi, I'm thinking about buying an Asus notebook from ebay. I've scoured the net and asked the seller about how to claim warranties but I can't quite confirm the questions I have. I was hoping you guys could help me out.

    a. Will I still have warranty on the laptop if I buy from eBay (an obvious unauthorized dealer). Since the Asus Warranty Terms do not mention anything about voiding the warranty when buying from an unauthorized dealer (nor does it mention anything about a dealer being authorized/unauthorized).

    b. I've read that Asus does not ask for a proof of purchase, but instead just needs the model number and serial number of the laptop. I'm sure some people have had success without a receipt/invoice but merely a model number and serial number, however the Asus Warranty Terms say that the
