Asus notebooks with rotating camera? V1J, W5J, what else?

Hi all, I am very tempted by the V1J but thrown off by its size and a few comments regarding its subpar finish quality (compared vs a W3J for example). Love its high resolution screen VERY MUCH.

Anyway, the rotating camera is a BIG feature for me. Maybe a pet peeve, but I am in grad school and could use it a lot. What other Asus laptops have this? Larger screen ones - that rules out the W5J - at least 14" for me. And from other brands, with a dedicated video card, and comparable quality to asus?

    Thanks,

    Juan Miguel Venturello

Well, actually I won't give more, but will take one away... the V1 doesn't have a rotating camera.... only the W5 series at this time.

I know you are one of the most well informed posters here but as far as I've seen the V1J HAS a rotating camera - it looks quite similar to the W5's. Cant provide link now, but do search - its on many of the websites and on the pictures its evident (sure, could be it is not). It is not mentioned on Asus site.

How sure are you of this?

Nrbelex, I know many USB cameras on the market, small, cheap, but I dont want another gadget to carry. The V1J has all my main desires plus this one, that while not critical, is one of my pet peeves. Wouldnt stop me from deciding for another.

Well, I'm about this positive that the V1 has a non-rotating camera:

No... that's ok... Honestly you made me think for a second just to second guess myself... but you made me bring out the big guns and show you the photos.... so everyone wins.

    But you're welcome.

Oh and by the way, cute kid you've got there... I take it that's you... otherwise that would be sort weird. A nice change from the usual notebook avatars.

    That's just a slight mistake.

He was noting towards the w5f, which is the only unit that has a rotating camera. I don't think there is a w5j. Btw, the w5f, if I'm not mistaken is 12" with a integrated graphics card. So, just as more clarification, it's w5f not the w7j.

W5F, right, sorry, got the name wrong. What's up with Asus and the naming? Haven't been able to find a patter yet... what does the number mean, and the letters? (J is the expensive ones... is it so?).

Yes that's my baby Justin, about a year ago. Now much bigger! I am the kind of novice father that is so proud and think his baby is so cute, I cannot let pass an opportunity to post a picture of him!! :)

The First Letter (W7J) indicates the series, the number indicates the model, and the J means Dedicated graphic while F means integrated. That's how I view it.

So in Car Terminology: so Civic Si or better yet, "Sentra" "SE-R" "Spec V" vs non "spec V"
