    Asus out of warranty service?

    I'm gonna purchase an Asus W3J and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with getting their asus repaired after the warranty expired. Thanks

    Not exactly service, but if you live in the US or Canada and know how, or aren't afraid, to take apart your notebook you can get parts from the Asus Estore.

    They got most of the parts for the W3J up already - LCD screens, motherboard, chassis pieces, HSF, etc.

    What I found interesting though is this:
    Anyone take apart their W3J yet? Could the GPU be modular, not soldered onto the motherboard like the W3V? $50 sounds like a steal for a 256MB X1600.
