so i purchased the obscenely priced recovery disks for my asus laptop. i put the disks in and boot from the dvd drive. all is well for a moment, screen says "windows is loading." the bar loads, then changes into a light grey background with some logo styling in the corner most likely an asus background.

but nothing is going on. no progress bar, nothing. i dont know what to do. i need to install windows. ideas?

stop at 2:32 that is my ending screen. i dont have the same logos with the mini hd, just the windows loading, windows starting, then that screen! ive rearranged the boot order making the dvd player priority #1 but still same problem.

Recovery process does not reinstall Windows, just FYI. :)

How long have you given it? I've seen this happen on a HP laptop with recovery media. Turned out it just needed 15 - 20 mins to initiate the recovery process. Unless the disc and/or the optical drive is bad, it should load the Asus recovery eventually.

You have G75VW? the recovery DVD you got is a single disk version which is very old, it only work for Windows 7 machines back in 2010.

    G75VW should have 4 DVDs.

Worst case you can download a windows ISO and use the key on your machine to install a fresh copy and get the drivers from the Asus website.
