Where could I get my hands on a S96J or other Asus laptops? I live in Central California, about 85 miles south of Sacramento. I would like to check out some Asus laptops because I am already biased against them because I got to use a E1705.

I don't think there is anywhere you can go see the laptops in person, which is why these forums are so resourceful. You could try to ask GentechPC in Covina, CA if you could stop by and check out the laptops. www.1toppc.com

I've seen that already. However, I am in the middle of CA so a company stationed in L.A would be of no use. So i'm trying to figure out where they are stationed in CA so I don't have to drive more than 100 miles to see a laptop.

If your in Turlock, you could try to come up to Fremont, since Central Computers does retail Asus notebooks. (Turlock is near Merced right?)

And just to make a note because people confuse us...... we were PROPortable while PortableOne was still Laptops Inc..... I don't know where they're located anymore, but we're in Pennsylvania.

well, if your not wanting to drive more than 100 miles you might be out of luck...for me, it'd be worth actually trying it out to drive an extra 100 or so...so its all a matter of what it's worth to you i guess, i mean look at us, i'm in Texas and our only choice is Houston, kinda far if you live in Dallas or some place like Abilene, lucky for me its only about 80 miles, i'm like you tho, i wish there were more resellers closer to home

Yeah, I am about 25 miles north of merced.
I wouldnt mind driving around 100-150 miles just as long as it is more than 2-3 laptops that I can look at.
