I've been thinking of buying the W3V, but with all issues people have reported such as heat under the palmrest, disappointing screen, etc., I figured the best way to decide is really go see it in person... unfortunately I can't find any retailers here in Southern California that have it in store. I've searched the forum and it seems like the only stores that have the notebooks in store are in Northern California. I've called a few of the stores listed on Asus resellers list in the area and most of them have been online only. Anyone know of any actual stores that have the W3V in LA/OC area... or even just carry Asus notebooks at all?

I too want to check out an asus machine - however I'm going for the v6v.
How about - www.pcbuzz.com
One in Santa Anna, one in Torrance. -
Cool, thanks. I called them up and they don't have the W3V but they do have the Z63A which is similar so I'll probably go check them out. Does anyone know if there are similar supposed "issues" with the Z63A? I assume since the design is essentially the same, the right plamrest would also heat up similarly, maybe slightly less since it doesn't have a dedicated video card. How did you find PC Buzz? I didn't see them on Asus's reseller list but I imagine there may be other stores that also have Asus notebooks in store but not on the list. -
I saw their ad in the Computer User magazine. That's how I found them. There's also GenTech, Mwave (city of industry), and TopMicro (walnut).

Pc Buzz has a few models on display. Their address is 21205 Hawthorne in Torrence and their phone number is (310) 540-6301.
You can also try calling these two numbers for display models in Southern CA (626) 451-0288 for Alice Computers (different models in display at their two locations in San Marino and Glendale).
Another store is (714) 556-5362. I never called them so I don't know their name or location. (but according to the asus rep, they have models on display too)
I got this info from the north american Asus sales rep - they seem to know which stores in which area are brick and mortar stores.
Hope that helps! -
^PC buzz is a nice place, friendly staff, pretty small though..just went there this past weekend. Their online store however isn't functioning properly.
driving tips: when going there.. the map on the site states that its at the corner of Bristol and MacArthur.. however it's further down.. just go past the intersection and on the left side (assuming you are north bound), you should see PC Buzz in blue letters on a building in a shopping district, make a U turn at the intersection where the SBC building is located.
