I am looking at getting a W3J but I have a few questions,

    1. Has anyone ever sent their notebook for warranty service? How was it? Turn around time?
    2. Where is the service depot located in the US?
    3. Hows the Asus technical support?
    4. Would you guys reccommend the extended warranty?

Input would be appreciated :) .

    Speaking from a dealers experience.
    1. Try to keep questions to a minimum and push for an rma. They can not diagnose or repair software issues. Always format restore windows using their provided restore discs before you call in. With that said for hardware defects their turn around on popular models is usually under 3 business days. Sometimes same dat usually 2 days. They return shipments via overnight mail always
    2. Fremont cali. Walkins allowed
    3. They are only human. I cant say they are more attentive then any other but they are us based and their turn around is faster then any rma i have dealt with as a dealer and feedback from customers in the states say the same
    4. Depends how you use your notebooks. Some people plain abuse their notebooks. Some take care of them. Its pricey though. There is a small probability that you will need to use the ext warranty. I would say about 10-20% probability once in 3 years.

Wow thanks for that. For some reason the Asus support is one issue I never hear about on these forums. But I guess no news is good news.
