Careful with the temps on the new hardware, then
-
will diddly do
-
neat
i wonder how it melted :O -
you overclock or anything? or did it just melt? because that would be interesting to know if they would replace an overclocked card that melted
-
Well if they wouldn't be able to tell, they'd just replace it right?
-
Wow... 2 days! Thats great!
-
and if he's smart he wouldnt tell you now would he?
-
Great....what kind of gpu temps are you running? Those of us in the C90 world seem obsessed with gpu temps (cpu temps are no problem it seems), just like F150 supercrew owners are obsessed with gas mileage
-
seems asus deserves its high price
-
I wonder if this quality customer service holds true in other parts of the world, specifically Indonesia. I'm planning on purchasing a g1s, so it's comforting to read about this topic.
-
From what I've heard, their support in the UK and Europe is pretty bad, but it seems to be good most other places worldwide.

Overclock isn't killing warranties like it was in the old time anyway. Asus even has overclocking utilities that COME with the laptop (at least c90s, but VGA enchancer works on any other right...?) Compagnies like XFX, BGF and eVGA even cover cards that were burned overclocking, as you as you didn't voltmoded them. -
In general, do ASUS laptops have heating issues..wondering since I might buy ans ASUS.

ASUS support in the Netherlands is at least average btw. Maybe above.

Technically, for an ASUS ensemble (i.e. not the C90) probably overclocking is doubtful practice, and if provable might provide grounds for them to deny you warranty service.
The thing is it's nearly impossible to prove, unless you do it the "hard" way with changing BIOS settings etc.
Also, I don't think the techs care too much... they just check what component is bad, change it, and then let the computer go on its way. -
Asus support = awesome
