Ok so as some of you may know my brand new Asus M70VM developed a speaker problem 1 day after delivery.

I plugged headphones into the SPDIF and Headphone sockets (not at the same time) and I also plugged an input source into Mic. (Audio output from my Xbox 360).

Then when I removed the leads I found I have no sound from the internal speakers. The only way I get sound from the speakers and the headphones like normal is to go into the realtek HD audio manager control panel and set the advanced settings to separate the audio streams...

So for the last 3 or so weeks I've had a support ticket open with Asus, and so far I have got nowhere.

They've asked me to do the usual, update drivers, plug things in, unplug things etc. so I didn't think too much of the fact that nothing has been sorted and the sound is fine and works ok so I'm not too bothered but today I received an email in reply to the support ticket I have open that kinda made me wonder why anyone bothers logging support issues with the manufacturers, see below and note I have an Asus M70VM running Vista...

From what I've been reading I thought Asus customer support was good?
