Anyone know when these two might be released properly in the UK? The UX330 with i5-6200 and 256 disk is available from one shop. I had a look at it and liked it. I do wonder though whether a model with bigger disk will become available. I also wonder whether it's possible to upgrade the memory/disk, as Asus' website lacks proper specs. See: http://www.asus.com/uk/Notebooks/ASUS-ZenBook-UX330UA/specifications/

The UX410: It does look very interesting, I wonder though whether it will really just come with a 48W battery and how tests will fare, see global Asus website: https://www.asus.com/Notebooks/UX410UA/

The UX310 has a lesser screen than the 330, doesn't it? What about the hinge design: is it similar to the 330 in that you can only open it to about 120 degrees or does it lift the machine off the table like the 305? If the latter then that's a no for me.

Slightly annoyed as my current computer is dying a bit more every day. Alternatives I might consider are also not yet available unfortunately. The Lenovo Ideapad 710s looks interesting, but doesn't seem to be upgradable, and I kind of fell in love with the Lenovo Yoga 910, though, given the US price is quite a bit higher than originally anticipated, I'm sure the UK price will be far too high for me.

The Asus specs for the UX330 show that it is an M.2 SSD so that can be changed. However, this review indicates that the RAM is soldered.

The UX410 looks interesting and the 14" size means it can pack more hardware but I suspect that it will be subsantially more expensive than the UX330. The hinge looks to be similar to that on my Dell Precision 5510 which only tilts back about 45 degrees from the vertical.

Thanks a lot John. Thus upgrading the disk on the 330 is good news at least as the usual 256 sounds extremely small considering that my current C-partition is 196 or so and I have to try and keep it clean despite not many installed programmes. Itunes and browser data is certainly an annoyance. Memory... well, been living with 4gigs for 4 years now, thus I guess 8 is an improvement. Not sure though how future-proof it really is. Thanks for the review link. Sounds good enough I think, and from what I tested at a store I'd say the build quality and the screen angle is fairly similar to my old ux32vd; both no problem for me.

Re the 410: I think it looks very interesting. The website you linked to above mentions thought that the casing will be the same as the ux305, which is fairly annoying as the sharp screen edge is rather uncomfortable when using it as a laptop. :( Thus wait for a potential 430? There's nothing on the net about it though. Shame.
