Late august i was hit with the v6j timebomb, eminent bsod.
read up on this, and there is a bios fix.
during the flashing...exaclty half way..my lappy crashes.
Leaving me with a bricked v6j.
I think i still have options however.
I've been attempting to learn how to create an automated usb drive flash utility, all attempts have failed, im not certain i have my disk prepared properly, because i cant get my brick to acess the usb drive other than the one blink it gets upon power on.

No Post, no visual, no sound.
    power button = 5 seconds of flashes/chirps/fans,crash.
holding ctrl gives me about 10 seconds before crash.

is there a button i can press to force my machine to boot from usb?

just to clarify, this will be a Blind flash, as i get no video.

any help is greatly appreciated...I've witnessed a user "GenTechPC" walk someone through a very similar situation as this, but i fear mine will be harder, as i am not meerly missing video from a bad flash, it seems to be missing everything.

    What i have tried;
removing cmos battery & power supplies, waiting 12 hours, holidng power 5 miniutes, pulling hdd,cd...nothing is contributing to progress, no bios reset ever came from that power cycling, i fear my only hope is to rent? a usb>a: drive and boot with that...wich i dont have, what i do have, are the tools to create a usb boot disk, working bios on file, and my usb stick, wich i believe is bootable, but can not test on this laptop im using now, because if i power down it might not turn on again....ever since my girlfriend spilled water on it...not allowed to turn it off., but ive got all my tools on this lappy, im just not pro at making bootable automated usb flash, as its my first time bricking a system.

you need to do a blind flash:
Make a bootable usb for flashing bios.
    Put awardflash.exe on usb.
    copy bios file to usb.
Put an autoexec.bat file on usb
Put just this one line in autoexec.bat file.
    awdflash.exe ak31s2eh.bin /py /sn /cd /cp /cc
substitute bios name for ak31s2eh.bin and substitute your utility for awardflash.exe
delete any config.sys file from usb

Restart the system with the usb in the drive. Do not touch anything for approx 5min. Now pull usb out and restart. If it worked you will get a display and you will need to enter the bios and config to whatever you want.

ive got this hp usb disk took ready to go
are there specific dos files i should be using to create the startup disk?
and..my bios files are .303 format, seems to be different than everyone elses .rom or .bin files.

went ahead with what ive got and...

the only activity this usb drive has, is when i first press the button....if it was acessing it, usually the thing lights up and blinks but..only one blink before it crashes...

is there a ctr/fn/alt+? combination that i could press to force it to read my usb device?

I just got called into work so im off for a couple of hours, thank you very much for your helps, if anyone can shed some light on a button i can press to force usb boot on this v6j id be eternally grateful...i think it might have something to do with the ctrl key, cus if that is held, it gives me 5 more seconds before crash.
thanks again for taking your time, i know how tedious this crap can be for anyone in the same hemisphere as someone with a bricked lappy, my favorite game (darkfall) just came out with an expansion...the same day i got the bsod bug hahahaha lol ugh

This is on the right track. When my Sager died it wouldn't POST either, so I tried a blind flash. For me I think it was Fn-B but that's for a completely different brand.

How many HDDs do you have? if you only have 1, try pressing escape (should bring up a menu, even if you can't see it, that has choices of boot devices) puss down arrow twice (HDD/DVD/Removable) if you have 2 HDDs, do it 3 times. press enter. you should now be booting from your removable device.

    i have 1hdd, its a laptop.

pressing escape + down twice isnt working, nor buying more time before eminent crash.

No Video, cant see, I'm blind here...my best guess is its in need of a tech with the usb a drive tools and or...probly a new gosh darn mother fathering bios chip cheesus block sludging cripes this is frustrating bricked gosh darn lappy.

    sooo, i ask again....force usb boot...whatsa button?

anyone with a working v6j know the score?

if it's an AMI BIOS, you could try putting the BIOS on a removable and renaming it to AMIBOOT.ROM (case matters). with that, start it up and hope for the best (maybe while holding a key down. f2, esc, del etc). wouldn't count on it, as it's just a myth.

"during the flashing...exaclty half way..my lappy crashes."
were you flashing with EZflash or the windows one? if it's the latter, then the boot block is gone and any user-attempted methods won't work. only way is to get some sort of JTAG external programming device, and praying that you won't have to heavily modify it to work with the chip itself (which would also require soldering the 16-32 pins). definitely not something i would attempt (or recommend) doing.

i would contact asus about it.
