    Hi everyone,

I am planning to buy a notebook with 15.4" WSXGA screen. Besides the screen, running cool and silent is the most important thing. I found Z71V, could you recommend it? Does it run cool (especially around the palm rest area)

    Thanks a lot, :)

Take a look at the Z96J (not S96J with WXGA), not out yet, but should be soon I think. It's got WSXGA+ (1650 x 1050) res, and it's supposed to be very cool and silent.

Well, the Z71v is and old but decent machine, but for almost the same price you can prolly get the Z96 as Darrick mentioned.

If you do want the Old Pentium-M (Centrino), then i would suggest the ASUS Z70va, (but there are complaints of it running a little warm and im not sure about the noise).

Other than that, yup your Best bet is the Z96j, WSXGA+ (maybe glossy or matte not sure), X1600.

It should be released in about 1-2 weeks

    Thanks,

Depends on what CPU you choose. Z96j is a better choice for Core Duo with ATI x1600. The performance is the best if you compare with z71v and z70va. It is coming soon in the market. Probably, you can wait, right?
