If only they'd do something about the heat and the ugly backside of the screen. The drawings previous to the ones the asus g51j have now were mutch better.

i saw g60j with new Intel's 1.73GHz Core i7-820 QM, 8gb ddr3 ram, gts 360m 1gb vga and 500gb hdd in Turkey. But it was a sample for press.

Is it me or is ASUS putting out laptops with new hardware way to fast.
Don't get me wrong I love new hardware as much as the next guy but man the turnover over is quick.
We probably won't see these laptops for a few months anyway.
    "sigh"

I have this hunch that the GTS 360m won't perform much better than the GTX 260m.

A few of the garbage threads I found were speculation that it's a rebranding of the 200M series. But most of the desktop stuff points to the opposite... so it's hard to know.

If anyone has any more info please give up the groceries. :)

The mobile 310 is already a rebrand of the mobile 210. I have no doubts that the 360gts will be a rebrand with a 128bit bus and GDDR5, performing at the same, give or take a couple FPS.

If it's a rebrand I will cease to care... and keep my G51J. 8GB and GDDR5 would be nice, but not for the loss I'd take... meeeeeeeeh.

Asus should atleast do something with their cooling before spewing out laptops with better hardware.

That's one of the reasons why I didn't push my budget and get the G51J-A1 instead of the G51VX-RX05. I think the non symmetrical, 'splatted on' design looks hideous. It doesn't look slick at all whereas the white G51 design does. I even prefer the G50vt's design.

what other post? I've been saying this for over a month now, since even before that i3/i5/i9 thread popped up. And I have no evidence, no. But it isn't really hard to come to this conclusion after seeing the quadruple rebrands Nvidia has already done in their mobile market.

my post earlier in this thread =P

I'm not saying it won't be GDDR5- it will. That is a guarantee. But it will be 128bit bus, basically canceling out any performance gains from the extra bandwidth.

Yep with maybe dx 10.1 thrown in but that's about it. nVidia has fallen behind the curve and it's showing unfortunately.

I'll probably go for that G73 then, just because the bigger size of the laptop might prevent overheating issues like the g51 and g60 models have. Hopefully there will also be a choice between an ati or nvidia card, so you could chose the 'cooler' one. I rather have a bit less performance and longer notebook life than a hot gaming rig that cooks itself during the first summer you use it.
