WOW.
My G51J is going to have a short run... G51JX hoooo! -
If only they'd do something about the heat and the ugly backside of the screen. The drawings previous to the ones the asus g51j have now were mutch better.

Can't find much about the 300 ("Fermi") series except ruthless speculation. This is the only somewhat decent info I've been able to find... and it's for the desktop parts. Anyone else?

i saw g60j with new Intel's 1.73GHz Core i7-820 QM, 8gb ddr3 ram, gts 360m 1gb vga and 500gb hdd in Turkey. But it was a sample for press.

Is it me or is ASUS putting out laptops with new hardware way to fast.
Don't get me wrong I love new hardware as much as the next guy but man the turnover over is quick.
We probably won't see these laptops for a few months anyway.
"sigh" -
Nice to see refresh, but i agree, the releases are getting close to 4months cycles now.... techology.... cant live without.

I have this hunch that the GTS 360m won't perform much better than the GTX 260m.
-
. Im hopping at least a GTX260 alike with DDR5 an slightly higher clocks.

A few of the garbage threads I found were speculation that it's a rebranding of the 200M series. But most of the desktop stuff points to the opposite... so it's hard to know.
If anyone has any more info please give up the groceries. -
The mobile 310 is already a rebrand of the mobile 210. I have no doubts that the 360gts will be a rebrand with a 128bit bus and GDDR5, performing at the same, give or take a couple FPS.
-

If it's a rebrand I will cease to care... and keep my G51J. 8GB and GDDR5 would be nice, but not for the loss I'd take... meeeeeeeeh.

Wasn't this link posted like a couple threads down already?

Here in norway one of the stores claims to be getting the new asus model in stock 9th January.
Specs:
ASUS 16" HD Corei5 430M GF GTX360M-1G 4GB 500GB(7200RPM ) DVD BT Cam Win7HP-64Bit Bag/Mouse
Model number: G60JX-JX046V -
Maybe I missed something but isn't corei5 just a dual core i7?
-
-
Asus should atleast do something with their cooling before spewing out laptops with better hardware.
-
arrandale is dual core, current i5s are lower tdp quads
-
Hardware isn't even ready not even talking of building designing notebook around.
I can go and paint a new table with core i9 and gtx480 notebooks too -
It is not fake, I have word from at least 2 different resellers that they'll have a 360m in an asus notebook in Q1 2010, and btw: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=441863 way old news.
-
-
I WANT 3D SUPPORT WITH THAT!!!!
hmmm.......Core i5 seems underpowered?!
360....we have to wait for benchmarks first
Also what about DX11 support?? -
Wait for them to come out and then judge!
-
This is what i heard from a friend at Asus. The new asus laptops will be out in Jan and they are the G73x w/ an ATI HD mobility 5870 GDDR5 graphics and a updated G51jx with a gtx 360m card.
-
Wow, gtx eh? Could be fun...
-
I would put hard cash on it being a rebranded 260m.
-
Its a GTS not a GTX

Yep with maybe dx 10.1 thrown in but that's about it. nVidia has fallen behind the curve and it's showing unfortunately. -

Well, I'd say GDDR5 is definately here, and the G51Jx is already available for pre-sales.
Asus G51Jx-A1 15.6" FHD LED/Core i7 720QM/NV GTX 360M 1GB GDDR5/4G DDR3/640G/W7HP64
...... fully customizable, and not a bad price, at that!

Sux 360m is just renamed gpu/board.
