    Hello!
I am having a problem with some drivers for notebook X55U.
So, i formatted the laptop (win7 64bit), installed all the official drivers from here: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download X55U
but watching the "Device Manager" it didn't find 2 things, those ones: Imageshack - 17141274.jpg

The USB 3 doesn't work and probably because of missing drivers.
On the official site drivers, there are no chipset drivers or usb 3.
Please, i would like those drivers for win7 64bit.

Thank you and sorry for my bad english.

Chipset driver is what you need for that System Management bus controller (and for the USB 3.0 controller too). You can try using a driver detection/download utility, such as DriverPack Solution or 3D chip. Or search Google for the chipset driver - often times Softpedia has some handy drivers.

They will most likely refer you to their download support page for the driver. Did you explain to them that you downloaded drivers from their site and still encountered a problem?

Any response/luck yet? I can't speak for anybody's customer support quality, but I hope they have a fix for you, should they respond. :)

I didn't answer them back yet.
But i don't want to try the recovery.
I already formatted the laptop, it's clean from anything that they put when u buy a brand new laptop.
To their official site, all the drivers are there, except 2, those ones i want...

    Hmm...

You can try this driver for the chipset: Download Asus X501U Notebook AMD Chipset Driver 8.930.13.6000 for Windows 7 x64 Driver for Windows 7 x64 - Softpedia

Or if not that one, maybe this one will work:

(64 bit) Asus X55U drivers for Windows 7 64-bit | laptop drivers, driver updates

(32 bit) Asus X55U drivers for Windows 7 32-bit | laptop drivers, driver updates

Did you reply back yet - letting them know that you already did a format + reload? It sounds like they are defaulting to 1st step troubleshooting protocol, so you may need to clarify for them what you've already performed.

Regarding the recovery - I found out recently that it's not of much use unless your Windows is activated and you opt in to create a recovery drive under Settings. Quite a few issues have risen as a result of users not being able to access the recovery partition; you'll need either a 16GB USB flash drive or an external hard drive to do this.

    Hello vothros,

I had exactly the same issue like you. I couldn't manage to install drivers for USB3.0 and SM BUS Controller.
My notebook is also ASUS X55U series and tried to install Win7 x64.

Then I have found AMD A68M chipset drivers on this website:
    Ñêà÷àòü äðàéâåðà ×èïñåòû AMD A68M

    or this URL

    A68M

Just choose correct OS version and download the drivers, there are 26.31 MB in size.
It will install all missing drivers. Voila! :)
