I'm ordering my z71v tonight, but I've got a few (maybe slightly picky []) issues...
1GB DDR2 - 1 stick or 2x512? I've heard that 1 stick will generate more heat. Much more? Is the upgrade flexibility worth it?
5400rpm or 7200rpm - Again, heat. I know it'll run hotter, but how much?
I'm a laptop noob (if you hadn't guessed) and this'll be a LAPtop, I don't want to burn my kneecaps off after a few hours use...
Thanks guys.

What are you going to be using it for? You probably won't need the 7200 rpm hard drive, and you might as well save the money. As for the RAM, it depends on whether you're going to be upgrading it anytime or not. If you are, go with the 1 dimm, if you aren't go with the 512 x 2.

Lol, sorry a bit of a vague post there! I'll be using it mainly for Photoshop and light 3d work.
Also, I've read elsewhere that unless you use 512x2, you won't recieve the full benefits of DDR2. Is this true? -

1 GB x 1 is usually about twice as expensive as 512 x 2. And that can be a lot. Like a 300 or more price dif. So it depends if your on a budget or not.
