This might overload some Asus' fanatic brains, so try to take it easy. So far none of the systems below even have a prodution date for the world, let alone an ETA for the states........ I would expect to see the new Vx1 GE here until probably Thanksgiving time (last week of November) and if we see the G1P/G2P or S7Fm before January, I'd be surprised... they're more likely going to end up as Santa Rosa models in the Spring.
G1P
I don't know what's up with this, but it's easy to see by both it's model name and the picture below that Asus is going right after the Dell XPS - no doubt. I guess the special colors on the "W", "A", "S", and "D" keys may tip you off to a notebook dedicated to a gamer also. Nothing is known about this yet, but based on the picture, I can tell we're looking at a 15.4" and a size similiar to the A9 chassis, which makes it certainly bigger than a V6, but not as big as the old P4 chassis' like the A6. Given it's size, I wouldn't be surprised if this ran an SLI setup.... Something that could match or beat the best XPS or Alienware gaming machine. The lower palmrest is made of the same black anodized brushed aluminum that the W2/W3/V6 use. The upper palmrest, keyboard surround and lid almost look as though they're a carbon fiber knock off from up close, but if Asus is trying to hit this market, I know they don't do anything "fake"... It's all or nothing, so I'm going to assume that this picture is preproduction and the polished and exposed carbon fiber is probably going to be used. Now, as for that round bubble logo on the bottom of the touchpad, I don't know what it does, but Asus isn't into just decorating their notebooks. It has to do something besides just light up and I for one am interested in seeing what it's for. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess it has something to do with the touchpad - maybe a mouse-like zoom button or something. These Gaming series models will be like the other series and will come with a carrying case and mouse.... The only difference is these will come with a color matching laptop backpack (it looks like a targus that I've actually used for years) and a full sized logitech gaming mouse...

G2P
Ok, well with a whole new series, why not start with two models. It's not entirely clear when you first look at these, but the G2P (and let's not confuse this - It stands for Gaming Series / 2nd Model / Merom), is a 17" clearly based on the A7 chassis. This unit would have even more room than the G1P and I can only imagine what's planned. Outside of the change in color of the lower aluminum palmrest, lid, and red lighting, they seem the same. Like the above, I think this will use a carbon fiber upper palmrest and keyboard surround, but if you look close, this one seems to have a different pattern.
I think in the end, they may settle on one pattern weave and use real CF. If you notice off to the left and right, instead of hotkeys like on the W2, those red things are perferated metel vents...... big vents on boths sides would never be done as decoration... Asus is pure and simple just about design... so that would lead me to believe there's something in there worthy of getting rid of a lot of heat.... certainly looks good for the high end gamer.

S7Fm
I often call the W7j the product of a passionate night between the W5F (mother) and the W3j (father). Keeping with that frame of mind, the S7Fm is the product of a wild orgy between the S6F, W5F, M5N and the S5N - that just screams for it's own Maury "you are not the father" episodes. It's an 11" widescreen like the S6F, it has the swivel 1.3mp webcam like the W5F, it has the aluminum left/right click touchpad surround of the M5N, and finally, a single spindle design that the S5N used (one spinning platter - the hard drive - which means it does not have an internal optical drive). I don't have a weight on this unit yet, but knowing how it's size compares and that the S5 was 2.8lbs, even though the S7 has a smaller screen it does have the larger top bezel with the camera.... so I'm thinking if it's 2.5lbs that would wonderful, but it may be even lighter.

Lamborghini Vx1 Golden Edition
The version of the Lamborghini Vx1 that the US will see in larger numbers will be called the "Golden Edition". A one may first think of the tacky Lexus and Inifity models of the same name, this doesn't have an gold painted plastic that screams T.A.C.K.Y.... Instead, it's just a way to distinguish the yonah and merom models and add that extra little level of exclusivity. The "GE" will have the same setup as the first Vx1 and the same color options (pearl yellow and black in a gloss finish), but there are few things that differ:
CPU: T7400 (2.16ghz / 4mb cache merom)
RAM: 2GB DDR2 667
HDD: 160gb / 5400rpm
Graphics: Nvidia 7400VX w/ 128mb VRAM
LCD: 15.1" SXGA+ w/ a special crystal level hardness LCD cover
ID: "Golden Edition" card below which will identify which exact number you have out of whatever the limited run will be
Touchpad: A slight bevel which reveals the unanodized aluminum around the touchpad surround - this helps give a little deffinition and contrast... very little detail, but one I would notice.

Alright, well that was a lot of information and I hope you enjoyed it. Anyone from this forum that knows me even a little would know that Asus' prototypes are my drug of choice and it's things like these that give me a bit of a fix... once I hear about and see these picture too much, then I'll get my next fix when the demo's arrive... and then production... and right down the line. As I said, we just recieved the A8js / W5Fm / A8Fm / W7Jp / R1F today and we're still waiting for at least 4-5 more new models within the next couple weeks. With all of that stress, I thought these might be a nice look into the future and perhaps help or confuse you more in terms of the right system for you. As always, we're here to help. I'm a senior member of this forum and dedicated a lot of time to the community. Likewise, PROPortable is my creation and we'll continue to provide the latest information and newest releases of Asus notebooks in North America..... I'm here if you need me. I'll be putting a link to this thread in my "Latest Asus news from PROPortable" thread for future viewing.

Man, those look nice... can you approximate the pricing on these Justin?
-
Wow I like the first one, especially it being 15.4 inch. Too bad it won't be out until Santa Rosa.
-
Fixed a typo, and thanks again for the info!
-
*throws aside all the W3J posters, and puts up new ones of the G1P*
They seriously look superior. Is that an eyeball? -
It looks more like a glare to me
-
PROPortable Company Representative
Thanks for fixing that.... It took me about an hour to put that info together after a long days work... so I'm glad there was only one.
In terms of pricing... not a clue. If I were to guess and I think I'm fairly good at doing so at this point, It looks like Asus is trying to not only target the market the XPS and whatever the high end Alienware model of the month is - but rather do with this model what they did with models like the W3, where they didn't just look to put our a ho-hum 14", but the best darn 14" out there.... and yet price it competitively. I would guess that pricing would be high, but similiar to the upper end of those models mentioned above. I haven't even looked at those models in a long time as they're not only out of the market we're in, but I'm more of a mobile machine which could also game a bit, instead of a gaming machine which also happens to be mobile. So, I don't know if that' $2,500 - $3,500 - but the spec and configuration will certainly be high to very high and certainly priced accordingly. Before anyone says "that's too much" - first it's a guess based on no specs, but it'll certainly target just the high end gamer (because the high end professional is already looking at the W and V series), so whatever the market will support for whatever high end spec they go with....... Beyond that I couldn't tell you.
Now, in terms of Santa Rosa.... I'm guessing, again... Yes, I think I'm good at guessing, but with the R1f that we finally just got today, there isn't much more room for a completely new model before the chipset change. The US usually likes to stay at least 5-6 months out from a chipset change when they bring in new models. So the end of October is really the cut off for a totally new model - in my opinion. Now, we'll certainly see it in Europe before the US as they've proved they can sell new models based on a current chipset right up until and even past when the following generation comes out.... If we don't see these in Europe by January, they may be late spring additions to the lineup. However, the US is in dire need of a real gaming system and perhaps that would rush those over here. I'm sure we'd all lot to have something like that for the holiday season, but these are just final prototype photos which come out at least a month or so before demo's are available and those are usually put out 45-60 days before production... then at best you're looking at a month after that before they could be ready for sale... and that's at BEST... So I figure at best, We'll see this for sale in March... we'll see. -
Justin, can you tell if those webcams are 1.3 MP?
-
The G2P...*drools*
I'm a sucker for carbon fiber plus that thing just looks nice.
This is going to get me into some trouble... -
Oh my... That S7 looks mighty nice. Now all it needs is a docking bay or port replicator of some kind stock from Asus... I do love my aluminum touchpad surround/flush touchpad a lot.
The gaming laptops are not my cup of tea, but the design beats the pants off the XPS series or any of the painted whitebooks that Alienware or VoodooPC sell. -
PROPortable Company Representative
Yeah, the pictures I have are quite a bit larger and you can clearly see 1.3mp on those.
I'm with Jumper on the gaming laptops in general... not my thing... but in terms of a comparison between these and what other people consider the top end - these are playfully tacky if you will....... I'm a minimalist in every aspect of my personal and professional life and I don't just hate decoration, I dislike things that are over emphasized.... but on a gaming machine, those are the same things that help communicate a connection between the system and the games being played on it... so it's not exactly my thing and I won't be using one on a daily basis, but I think it's the dream come true for a lot of people... and that and and all new Asus stuff really get me going... that's why I posted about it. -
I still think the w3j has a more pleasant overall design, but these laptops do look nice. Also, the power hungry side of me is saying "you know you want a g2p!" Thanks for the info Justin and keep up updated as more details become available.
-
PROPortable Company Representative
....... so I don't think there will be anyone - or at least shouldn't be anyone - that have the W3 and G1p on their final list to buy.... Now, on the other hand, I can see people debating the W2p against the G2p...... The W2 is a classier system and no doubt lighter and thinner..... but the G2p will certainly pack more punch - if you need more than the W2p will provide, you don't really have that many options anyway. -
I think Asus could really give the plastic XPS series and painted plastic Alienware/VoodooPC whitebooks a run for their money with the gaming systems. It's the little styling details on there like the touchpad on the G2P that really do raise the bar.
The XPS 1012 had me interested for about 5 minutes until I looked at some close up pictures and realized that they used a full height optical drive, so the thing is hella thick, and it's also mostly plastic. The W7J is a much better design in the '12-13.3"/7400Go' category, something I've been fast to point out to a couple people I have met with 1012s -
on a side note....will they sell the backpacks separately? i kinda like them.....
-
Um Im buying my machine right now. So theres really nothing I can do but be jealous of these machines coming out next year.
No way I can get two laptops in the same year.
Thanks a lot ;oP
I mean I think of the a8js as a gamer machine.
I wonder if the first one the g1p I suppose, is going to have an 8800 level gpu. Thats the thing the market really needs to see, it would take over the world. -
PROPortable Company Representative
I doubt it..... Asus always said they'd sell their cases that they used to include with the ensembles when they stopped including them in the winter.... They said they'd have them offered as optional accessories, but then they never did. So, I'm going to tell you right now - probably not.
Each ensemble has it's own different carrying case..... and they're sort of special to those models - I don't think you'll be able to get one. However, I do know that Targus makes 90% of every bag they've ever made..... so you may want to start there. -
the g2p looks like it would compete with the sager 5670 or xps 1710. but the g1p looks like it might be something unique to the market maybe taking a 7900 gs type of gpu.
I dont think asus has ever made a machine before with the dtr type of cards. If they did right now Id be saving up for it. -
there was the Z81sp
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=28164 -
Oh ya
well thats what I want!!!!!
I want that thing. without the desktop cpu thats where they screwed that design up.
I hope this is a return to that machine then, thats what the market needs. -
PROPortable Company Representative
Like Goren said, they've gone the DTR route before, but never targeted the gamer like an XPS or Alienware does...... The L series was always the DTR line, the L5g was THE big "gaming" machine of the time for us, but at the time, the big gaming machines that people were flocking to were 12-13 pounds - so the L5g was a lightweight and not full on gaming like those were. The Z81sp was a hardcore system also, following in the path of the L5g models, but there's just something about the P4 cpu..... it sucked - in a lot of ways. Hell, it didn't belong in a desktop, let alone a notebook.
The G series should bring in the fun of a design meant for the younger gamers and combine that with the power and efficiency of the core 2 duo and you'll get a well equipted notebook that isn't all that big, but has both plenty of features and power and a decent size with a good build....... put those together and you certainly won't have a cheap system, but you'll be better than the L5g and Z81sp, without a doubt. -

OMFG!!!!!!!!
Pardon the "french", but Jeez!!! Those are gorgeous!! Thank you sooo much, Justin....for making my life that much more complicated!!
I have been researching machines for what feels like FOREVER & have fluctuated between the W3J, A8JM, W7J, Dell M170, E1705 & M1210.
Recently, I have been awaiting reviews of the A8JS.
I'm a Gamer who travels, so I need Power AND portability.
I'll say this...if that G1P is a 15.4" with a decent mid-level GPU (say a GO 7900GS)....it will sell like crazy. The folks over in the Dell forums have been screaming for a 14" or 15.4" with a really good GPU. maybe this will sway them toward ASUS. I've also heard many indicate a desire for a built-in Web cam on the M1710. The G2P has one....another plus.
Unfortunately (or Fortunately, depending on one's viewpoint), I am not in a position to buy my laptop now. I should be able to by early next year. If these puppies are on the Horizon then, I may just hold out for one. They both look amazing & will definitely give the XPS's a run for their money. Where Dell succeeeds though, is with their rebates. They make the machines more affordable, at least every so often. They are such a big Company, they can afford to heavily rebate some of their configs. That is part of their appeal.
I do agree with the folks who said that the ASUS machines really do look much better than the predominantly plastic Dells.
And the matching bag & mouse!! Oh My!!
I want them....if only..........
Justin, If I may......could you please post any other shots of those beauties that you might have? So that the rest of us can gaze longingly at them....
just like you -
PROPortable Company Representative
There's so much to say... but I think I can sum it all up with this: Why have rebates for so much money - all the time - when you could just lower the cost of the notebook? It's to make a cheap system look more expensive and then look like a great deal. I was someplace the other day and one guy said to a customer - "Hey 50% off double the price" and although it was a joke, it's not that far from the truth, especially with the fruggle minds in this country..... I've told Asus they they should screw trying to set their prices to compete with these cheaper models from other brands..... if anything, offer a rebate, but let customers know what the value of the systems are by setting their prices where they would normally fall in this market if people would actually pay attention to Asus on a larger scale. Offer rebates to then to attract people away from dell and hp and the rest........ offer a buy back rebate........ Set the prices up where they should be which would be 15-20% higher than they are - easy - and then offer big rebates, even on the new models if people will trade in their old dell or something.... something to just push the fact that we're trying to clean up the streets or something.
Listen, I don't want any of these pictures being used for any other reason than for informational purposes....... the larger and higher res they get, the more chance we have for teenage boys to pin them up on their wall or hide them under their mattress... -
ltcommander_data Notebook Deity
Thanks for the great pictures. I guess the big question is whether those labtops are going to have DX10 GPUs. For gaming the difference between Napa Refresh and Santa Rosa shouldn't be that big, but with the heat problems with DX10 GPUs and reports that nVidia (who looks to be ahead of ATI) won't be releasing mainstream (which probably includes mobile parts) DX10 chips until late Q1 and the new G series is design now it's possible that they may just miss the DX10 GPUs, which would put them at a big disadvantage. There isn't much point in rushing to a January/February launch date for something that should represent that latest and greatest when DX10 comes out in a month afterwards. That'll probably mean we won't be seeing the G series until March at least which is what Justin mentioned.
I wonder how this will affect the W3J positioning. Granted it's professional versus gaming, but the G series may push the W3J higher slightly (ie better GPU) to be more competitive or they may push the W3J down a bit to avoid possible overlap. It would be nice to have a 14.1" V series model like a cross between the higher build quality and thinness of the V6J and the form factor and better GPU of the W3J. -
PROPortable Company Representative
Personally, I think that as much as we know abou the Santa Rosa chipset - it was probably a bigger substance change with the Merom update than we'll see in the spring with the next chipset, but I think some people are missing one key bit of information... or at least they're not putting them together. Right now, and this entire year for that matter has sucked in a lot of ways.....
Basically, there was never enough time to really get a new product moving before we ran out of them or there was talk of a refresh in the model. That hurt sales, but none of you gives a rats ass about that....... What you do care about are new models and supply of those new models..... which is really just one in the same with the other concerns. There's always something new around the corner...... it just seems like we were running in super speed this year and no one could be content with the here and now. Merom bugged the Yonah release from the get go........ Vista is sorta/semi holding some back from the new Merom release now... and I promise you, Santa Rosa is going to damage the late Vista release as well.
The funny thing is that the Yonah was really where it was at. We can face facts and realize that we're not going to be needing a 64bit cpu and OS until there's 64bit software to run on them and it'll be 2-3 years before that's even a legitimate issue..... Then, anyone who's a real hardcore techie isn't going to want to fully upgrade to Vista until SP1 which won't be till this time next year..... and then in the end, what the hell are we waiting for with Santa Rosa? If it's not that big of a change from the current platform, why aren't we looking ahead to 2008 and what will be out then? We can think that's just around the corner, but for those that bought a core duo in the spring - that's two years..... the time most people at least start looking for their next purchase.
...... That was just a rant on the current situation, but to relate that to the issue at hand... I think the G series is going to be all on it's own with a 15.4" and 17" to cater to the gamers and that's it......... there's no competition there with the W and V series - regardless of their configurations. They should stay positioned as well-rounded, high-end mobile systems....... not the highest cpus or gpus, but but not bargin basement either - and have great design and a great build.... I don't think it'll push the W3 to get a higher end graphics card down the road, but I'm sure next year it will get something else - as they always do.
With that said..... then we could go over to something like the A series and look at those as mainstream systems........ some with actual mainstream configurations and some with super high end configurations like the A8js...... that doesn't make it better or worse than any of the other models on a whole - it just puts it into a different category and is targeting a different group of people.... If the G series is for gamers and the W and V series are about the professional.... then the A series is more for the savy teen/college student that's about power on their parents budget...... who knows..
We'll see what happens. -
Staggering the CPU/chipset upgrades helps Intel keep new (read - profitable) stuff in the pipeline, and I'm sure it's nice for the big OEMs who have the huge contracts with the ODMs, but for a smaller setup like the Asus US distribution network, it is a huge pain. -
PROPortable Company Representative
.... Well Asus has always been on everyone's backs about stocking their systems. We were the only place that did it for more than four years and then you'd find a handful of places which one or two of a few models actually on hand....... But then some distributors starting keeping a bit of stock, so most people who sold them would just order and drop ship whatever they needed. I knew that would never work for us because it's embarrassing to sell a product or guarentee it's in stock and then order it and find out the next day that they didn't really have it....... and you're trusting some putz that doesn't care about those products as much as you do. This year, the distributors got sick of getting stuck with excess stock and ALL told Asus they won't stock their systems - they'll only drop ship them to the dealers - or - and this is what I think is funny - drop ship to the end user for the dealer. So, if you can follow that, that would be, you placing an order, the dealer ordering it from a distributor (who knows nothing), them then placing an order with Asus (no comment), and then Asus drop shipping to the end user....... Personally I like our guys to be able to be on the phone and go back to the warehouse and personally guarentee they can put that persons name on a system... but call me old fashioned. The only problem is, which all this new stuff - things are getting refreshed so **** quickly and although what has come in this year has sold very quickly, if for some reason something doesn't take off right away, hell the next shipment could be upgraded and cost the same or less than what you already have in stock.
This year it came down to that and then when we knew something was going to sell big time - Asus couldn't provide enough stock, be it with shortages from Intel and the GPU companies, if it wasn't one thing, it was another. There are deffinately worse things in life, but starting next spring.... 64bit dual core will be standard... vista will be preloaded.... and all we'll need to worry about is someone questioning the release of quad core mobile cpus..... it's a vicious circle. -
ltcommander_data Notebook Deity
For better or for worse this rapid pace is probably going to keep up for a while since Intel insists on using their "tick-tock" model. Basically we'll be seeing a new architecture every 2 years and a die shrink in the year between that so a new core every year, no doubt with further speed bump and FSB bump refreshes in the months between.
-
oh ya, the eye has to be a fingerprint scanner.... dont you think?
-
PROPortable Company Representative
I saw this while knocking on wood.... but I doubt anything could be more rapid than what's happened and what will happen this year. Just the moves by distribution and asus show that it was difficult on all ends to the point that costs probably went up because supply was down, but it was down because of the higher risks involved with the quicker turnarounds.......... so we'll see how that works out.
-
PROPortable Company Representative
I think it very well may just be some backlit icon, but I can't see Asus doing anything like that....... I want to say it would be a cool directional pad - almost joystick-like, but that would be too perfect and way out there for a totally new model like for Asus... after all, they are very conservative. -
So I guess there is a precident for such a thing on other 'gamer' type Asus products. Sweet motherboard, though. His 4th Asus mobo so far.. He is planning on buying a laptop in the spring, so I keep showing him the new models whenever they come out - he really likes the looks of the G2P a lot. -
PROPortable Company Representative
Well, when you're talking about desktops, the style game has been around a lot longer. Now Asus can certainly back everything up with their quality and performance, but ever since we started putting windows on the side of desktops, the more lights the better...... looking through Asus' magazine, they have more patents on the silliest little things that end up on their motherboards that actually really do a lot..... so they're stylish and functional even more so on the motherboard and graphics card side.
-
LOL now even before deciding if I wanna go for the G1P or the W3J or the A8J, I should decide on whether getting the G1P or the G2P! They both look so great! -
Thanks for the update.

ltcommander_data Notebook Deity
Just an observation that I thought I would through out there, but given that the W2Jp and A8Jp for example use the MR X1700, if ASUS sticks with their current naming convention it may imply that the G1P and G2P use ATI GPUs. Although that really doesn't say much either.

The keyboard is set way back in the 15 & 17" models. Why do laptop manufacturers do this ? I'd prefer a keyboard closer to the edge than so far away.
Also, anyone know if there are 17" laptops with an ergonomic split keyboard ? There certainly seems enough space for it.....no need to only have a "laptop sized" keyboard -
Still havent see the specs yet. Hopefully asus is not planning a X1700 or a 7700 only. But if they snuf in something good, mayb i ll fall for it. Y din they use the w2 chassis anyway.. looks even meaner.
Edit: Just notice something of the picture, if u see it close to the screen, u might find out the Ctrl and Fn key placing r changed!!! Finally, they r listening. I think the G2P 'side vents' beside the keyboard r not exhaust but rather where the speakers r placed.
Edit 2: Yupe, it's based on the A7J the side vents r certainly speakers, but they could act as a intake for the fan which is good for the system. See link if u dun believe me it is a speaker. http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=254&type=expert&pid=10 -

Yeah, I don't think we can actually sit and consider anything that's even out right now would be going into a system like this. It doesn't make sense for a company like Asus - especially based on the time frame that I'm considering. So to say they'd be stupid to put in something current is just a waste of time because they probably already know that and until they do something stupid, we're just wasting calories talking about that possibility.
In terms of speakers, yeah that's right. I keep forgetting that horrible speaker location. I rather them up under the screen like on the W2. There are two on both the A7 and W2 under the front left and right - but for the other speakers I do prefer the screen just because of the direction they face. -

Ok, well thanks SRD for pointing this out, but I'd like to point it out to some other people as well. Perhaps I could get a little help from my friends with a nice little comment to back me up over there under the story.
It seems Engadet completely ripped off my post... for one they took my pictures as they didn't have access to their own - one reason watermark them - but their big news article is basically a bad summery of what I posted last evening and they didn't even credit me. I thought perhaps some others would like to see where how Engadet gets their news.... Read my post on the first page and then copy and past the url below and let me know what you think.

There's no way to contact them - or at least I couldn't find one. I complained about them multiple times. This is the third time they've pulled out photos - which in itself I don't mind... I have have access to the originals and it does take a bit of work to manipulate them, so we always throw out watermark on the images that we're going to put on our site. We used to get the lazy folks who either didn't have access to the images or didn't have any photoshop skills would just pull them off our site.
Well, in the past they've run storys with our pictures.... never actually pulled their information from anything I wrote.... but having the logo on the pictures gives us free advertising, so I won't complain there. However, in the past, their "news" articles have proven bs multiple times. One time a guy wrote a report from CeBit I think and did a story on one laptop... Well it was obvious not only wasn't he really there, but his story was based on two photos of two different laptops that were at different angles. Someone who didn't know the two models may think they were one in the same, but the guy basically wrote a story about this super laptop that didn't exist... picking features from both and claiming it was just one model.... That's when I knew they were a hoax as a news outlet. -

thanks for the news. this is most exciting. things look promising design-wise for the rest of the 2007 lineup. looks like they're really going all the way with the general v6/m6 overall chassis.
not that big a fan of the large bezel up top, but it does leave room for people to line up some quarters and dimes along the magnets to show off. or perhaps a little magnetic rear-view mirror for the paranoid/vain.
any news on the barebones front? in my opinion, 2006 did not offer anything that could reasonably compete with the style-to-price ratio of the z63a, z70va, z33 -

No, I wasn't saying that the W3 has a brushed aluminum palmrest. I said that the lower palmrest was made up of the same brushed aluminum found on the W2/W3/V6...... I didn't just mean the palmrest, but for anyone familiar, since more people own a W3 than anything else, the lid on the W3 is what I'm talking about... but if you were confused, others may have been also, so I apoligize.
I'm not sure what you mean by "they're really going all the way with the general V6/M6 overall chassis" ? Overall, they're both different chassis' by far and only used on a couple models... and at this point the M6 finally got retired about six months ago.... And although the V6 has another couple years probably, there's only one V6 and I guess you've got the Vx1, but that's really a V6 with a fancy lid..... I'm just not sure what you are talking about and I'd like to know more about what you're getting at.
Nothing barebone wise, really.. -
some how i felt really offended that they just took your data like that and claimed it as their own article, perhaps because I felt something similar when one of the articles I wrote for a newspaper was basically copied at the strategy page.
I wonder what Eddie's reaction will be when he see's an Asus notebook called G2P -
i wonder that too especially since he changed his name to btotech....

Yeah, and if you recall what I said after I mentioned "G2P" - I said there's no connection to be made there
Looks like a bad time for a company once called "geared2play" to change their name when we're looking at THE first series of two gaming models.... ironic, dontcha think?
Ah, well I thought some forum members would post something over there if not for me, but just for the sake of the news...... NBR's Asus forum got it first - how it is most of the time.... and as it shall stay! But I just think it continues to hurt the credibility of their site... probably not to the average person, but after all that I've seen them do... you can hardly call it news. But's more offensive is that someone on the forum gave them that information.... That doesn't bother me, but I think they thanked whoever gave it to them.
Ok... So, I get the information and post it here...... someone else takes that information and gives it to engadget... and then they post it.... On top of that, without at least fact checking let alone asking permission.... I think I could have given them something better to write about if they actually asked me. I presented the info to the forum in the informal way I usually do since I'm amoung friends in a community... I certainly wouldn't want my off the cuff forum conversation turned into headlines.
