Don't get me wrong here guys, Asus makes some great laptops and computer components. But what the the deal with...
"Rock Solid. Heart touching."
Alright I'm sure we get the Rock Solid part, they make some great desktop motherboards. But, heart touching, as I was reading that as I walked by a motherboard box in my room I had a slight chill go down my spine. How is a motherboard, graphics card, or even a laptop heart tourching. Wierd...
What do you guys think of the slogan?

Whenever anyone asks about ASUS notebooks I always say they are "Rock Solid and Heart Touching"...
With a slogan like that how can you resist repeating it?
In fact if ASUS changed their slogan I might stop buying their products...
-
The hearts are touching.
-
Haha its true... Its so "aweosme" its still stuck in my head.
-
whats Dell's slogan
??
-
Don't think they have one.
Don't think Apple has an official one either.
I kinda like the no slogan thing. -

Exactly!!1!!!one
I wonder if it's the same in all countries? For example, is it translated? -

In Vietnam, it is still in English. I think my language doesn't have any sentence with the same meaning and as good-sounding as the original one. -
It is a shame that their UK customer service is neither rock solid or heart touching.
-

Sounds kinda dirty if you ask me.
-
I think heart touching refers to good styling/emotion from a marketing perspective..
-
Why pay less when you can get less for more? =P
-
My F3Sa (plagued by the lower right side keyboard crack) has a sticker that reads, "Quality with Environment in Mind." To flesh out this slogan, did they absolutely have to make the upper portion of the chassis out of soy product?
Hardly rock solid. Not even heart touching.

Dell had something like "hotter then ever" for some action on xps a while ago.
One thing i DONT want for my laptop is that it's HOTTER THEN EVER....lol -
Better than "Republic of Gamers". Now I see why a person I recommended the G50vt-x1 bought a competitor for $500 more.
I mean, that brand was a good one too, but a long-time Asus customer for their system boards, and having eyed a laptop at Best Buy, the G50vt unit I looked at was VERY solid -- for that price and that feel, it was about the hardware and not the name. And they deserve to be a name.

More notebook company slogans for curious folks:
Dell - "Dell. Purely You."
Lenovo - "Think"
Apple - "Think different"
Acer - "Empowering People"
Toshiba - "Leading innovation"
Gateway - "A better way"
HP - "Invent"
Compaq - "Inspiration technology"
LG - "Life's good"
Sony - "Like no other" -
I'm sure it was more meaningful in Chinese, when the head office in Taiwan came up with it.
-
Don't you mean Taiwanese?
-
^ I think he was a sarcrastic
-
Well, I meant Chinese as the language as a whole, and not referring to a particular dialect. Afaik, Taiwanese is its own dialect, mostly Mandarin but with some influence from one of the other dialects.
But no, I wasn't trying to be sarcastic. A lot of things are lost in translation. I notice this a lot in Vancouver, because there are a lot of asian products here that have English translations to be sold, but well, some translations are better than others.... -
In Chinese, it's "华硕品质,坚若磐石" which literally means "Asus quality, firm as a rock". Definitely sounds better in Chinese
Taiwanese is a Chinese dialect, and although they are spoken differently, they shares the same/similar written characters as the traditional Mandarin language. -
You should see some of MSI's and Asus' laptop descriptions
.
-
Yeah, some of their descriptions are grammatically wrong and just doesn't flow right. Asus needs to hire a native English speaker (with Chinese knowledge) to rewrite/edit their descriptions.
-
Congrats on the 5555!
-
Thanks, but the 5555 didn't last very long
-
acers got some terrible product descriptions too, but at least their slogan is decent: empowering people.
-
At least we know that one of the marketing people with Acer is British...he has a blog at theacerguy.com. So at least some stuff is probably getting checked by him.
All I can say is that we shall probably never see a 444 model from MSI, although they came close and have the VR440.
EDIT: Or the Acer 4444. -
It looks like "the Acer guy" isn't doing such a great of a job
-
they should make an 8888 model
-
The price would be through the roof, at least the 444 models are cheap
Asus's slogan is just downright.... weird...
