Hi everyone,
I just got my new 9005HA and I find the wireless signal is not near as good as my M50VM notebook. I have a linksys G router and would like suggestions on how to improve my distance. Maybe an upgrade to a n series router might help.
please advise.

The 1005HA is equipped with a b/g wireless card, so upgrading your router to N will not help. You could try search for a newer wifi driver for your 1005HA if there is one and see if installing a newer driver helps with your signal issue.
Replacing your wifi card is also an option, but it's going to be quite difficult to do so on your netbook. -
The specs say that it is an "N" card. How can I tell?

You're right, the 1005HA has a wireless N card.
You can check by using EVEREST or simply going into your device manager -> network adapters.
Regarding your wireless issue, try using a different broadcast frequency on your router and make sure it's broadcasting using N, and not just b or g.
